He is losing everything

The bank is about to take my AH boyfriend's house of him, he can't make the repayments.

He first mortgaged it 4 years ago and I'm pretty sure he spent 80 thousand dollars on beer from the first mortgage.

I can't help him

There's nothing I can do.

It's not my fault.

Just putting it out there.

Thanks

It is very hard to detach and let the alcoholic loose everything. I know how hard it is to step back and watch him loose the house. Our family home was auctioned off last week.

(((hugs)))

Let him loose it. It may help him hit bottom. Alcoholics need to feel the loss that results from their drinking or they will never stop. It may seem heartless, but it is likely God's way of getting his attention. If not this crisis, maybe the next. Some have to go to jail or worse. We all have to hit bottom before we begin to recover.

No, he's not blaming me.

I just find it so sad.

To loose a house to beer.

I wont be going to live with him anywhere.

His got to figure out his own life.

To top it off he's "not feeling well" but wont go to the doctor of course.

I'm sure it's a drink related illness

]It could be sadder. YOU could be losing a house to beer, beer that you aren't even drinking. Your children could be losing a house to beer drunk by a parent. (like my kids and me).
Oh god..yes!!! It definately could be worse for me and I am so, so sorry for you guys!

We just spent tens of thousands of dollars to "save" my AF from losing our family house (me and sis had long since moved out) and all it did was enable him to continue the downward spiral. It's hard to watch, but the key here is not to watch it, like everyone says, and detach yourself. Easier said than done, I know. Boy do I know.
