smelling like alcohol?
 

So, this may be a weird question. But..a friend of mine is dating a guy who drinks a lot and she's concerned he may be an alcoholic.

Anyway, last night he claimed he had only had a few drinks and stopped around midnight. Then she saw him at 6am and he smelled like alcohol.

He swore he did not drink in the meantime, but seriously-how could someone 6 hrs later still be smelling like alcohol? I don't want to give her any advice about this and say, well, I think he's lying, if there IS a chance someone could still smell like alcohol after that long of a period of time, but it just seems fishy to me.

Absolutely possible.

Alcohol leaks from one's pores and breath no matter how many times one brushes their teeth and chew gum. He likely had more than a "few"

Every time I drank I'm sure I smelled like alcohol 6 hours later.

Probably even 12.

I am not an A, but I have had plenty to drink on occasion. There were times I smelled like alcohol a day after I drank. (not my finest moments)
