More miracles!

The good stuff just keeps rolling in! I had tried to refinance my house to get it in my name alone. The current mortgage is with a large financial institution. They don't know me from Adam, and when they saw my credit score and income they laughed (well, not really...but may as well have)

I decided to take a chance and go to my credit union. I spoke with a very nice lady, told her my circumstances, and she sent me home with an application. I turned it in Monday with a letter explaining all I am doing to better myself financially, and found out yesterday that I was approved! I have a large amount of equity in my home, so I am also borrowing enough to get out from a couple other debts and will now only have a house payment and utilities. I will be saving about a thousand bucks a month!

A year ago, if you had asked, I would have told you it was hopeless. That I was stuck in a horrible marriage with a verbally and emotionally abusive A because I could never support 4 kids alone. Today I can say I'm doing better financially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. That leap of faith I took landed me right in the arms of a very loving God!

There is hope for me then.....I'm staying because we have kids in college and I'm afraid of how I would go about financing mortgage, college, and life in general.

I'm so happy for you!

Good for you!!!!

Credit Unions are much better for getting a home loan than the banks. Most of the banks here are no owned by the big conglomerates, we have only 2 'local' banks and 2 credit unions, the rest are B of A, Wells Fargo, etc yuck

I had similiar to you when I went to buy my home, as I am on a 'fixed' income and disabled and those banks just laughed at me. I went to my Credit Union (had my savings and checking there for the last 15 years at that time) and they said sure, here's how much we can qualify you for and it was more than enough for me to buy my house.

I am so glad you have a credit union by you. Way to go.

Your forward progress in your recovery makes my heart smile!

Love and hugs,

Wow. That is wonderful to hear, and very encouraging to me at the beginning of my journey of separation.

When I turn my focus to ask "what can I do?" instead of keeping it on "I can't do that!" things start shifting!
Blessed4x, this calls for a dancing banana...or two! :bananadan :bananadan

A quote from Henry Ford I've been hearing about lately, "Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you're right."

Thanks and God bless us all,

I am so happy for you, Blessed, and also proud to hear how you didn't give and kept perservering until you found the best situation. A thousand bucks a month -- wow!! It pays to fight for yourself AND educate yourself instead of just being afraid and uninformed. I hope your telling how your "leap of FAITH" has turned, WITH FOUR KIDS to boot, will inspire others who are suffering to take a chance on improving their lives with their kids as well! Anything is possible if you are willing to stay the course, work hard, and do the right thing for yourself and your kids. Nice job, sister. :)

We make plans but God guides our steps. :-) Thank you for sharing who you give glory too. You are my walking example that our life giving God provides "life" wherever we desire it and are ready to be entrusted with it.

8 Better a little with righteousness
than much gain with injustice.

9 In his heart a man plans his course,
but the LORD determines his steps.
