How many ounces is a "fifth" of whiskey?
 

I don't know myself and in Canada I don't think we have that term for an amount of alcohol. Thanks. Just wondering.

Hi Boo - it's 26.5 fluid ounces, which is about 3 1/4 cups.

Thank you! OMG! If you read my "introduction" post, I have just learned that that is about how much he was drinking EVERY night.

I had been thinking a "fifth" is half that and, even so, that is a lot!

I drink less than that in a YEAR!

My A drinks 1/2 a fifth and then about 4 nights a weekd goes to the bar and drinks more right after he finishes it! I can't imagine drinking that much EVERY night!!!!:dead:

I wouldn't know if my Dad drank more or less than a 5th because he has been buying his liquor in 1/2 gallon size for years. Once we went on a 5 day vacation with him. There were 6 adults and they drank 6 half gallons in about three days.....2 days were driving days....uggh!!!

Lucky hubby doesn't liquor anymore!

My AH drinks about 12- 15 eers a night....I don't even wanna begin to add up those ounces.
I just can't imagine consuming that much liquid of any kind in one day never mind one evening!
