Lessons learned on vacation.
Back home from my first vacation to Hawaii. I learned some things on the trip.
First that I like to travel, I don't mind airports (its just part of the process) I don't mind just hanging out with my kid in an airport. I don't like hanging out in an airport with my husband. I don't mind being on an airplane, bring a book or spend the $15 for the move player its well worth the money. (and yes AH complained about that too.)
As I had feared I got to hear all about what I should have done differently. (it was endless really....)
I did try to block him out as much as I could, but it was hard. And I admit it did start to get to me at one point.....
I learned that my AH does not keep his word. Again with out great detail the bottom line is I KNEW BETTER but I wanted to believe he would respect my wishes.
Next time I will consider traveling alone.. I met a woman at the pool who was there alone to celebrate her birthday she was turning 60. (she looked happy and free) I am sure I could do that if needed.
Next time I will bring stronger sun screen.
I learned that the GPS program on my phone worked really well.
I'm happy I could focus on just being there.... a few times I really had to pull myself away from trying to make AH happy. BECAUSE I CANT. It was huge for me to see that happening and stop before I had a huge resentment.
I must sound like the complainer here, but for me it was a good trip when I kept the focus on just being there.
