I'm glad to have found you all!
My husband has been drinking for almost 30 years. He just quit last January. We have been married for 8 years.
I have recently realized the toll the alcoholism has taken on me, and I am reaching out to every available outlet for help to educate myself.
I have hit rock bottom in dealing with him, and it is really hard to be supportive of him as he is in AA and working the steps. It is even more of a roller coaster because he treats me with respect after the meetings, which gives me hope, and then hours later, he is hateful again.
I have been reading the other posts and it makes me feel better knowing that I am not alone.
Thank you for listening...

Peach,
So glad you found us too!!!
More folks will be around in a bit...please do read around and especially the "Sticky" posts at the top of the forum. You will find your situation is not uncommon...and you'll see how some people have dealt with it.
We're here for you

Thank you for the welcome. I have been reading other posts this morning on this site and I don't feel as isolated. I have been going to Al-anon and I'm seeing a therapist, which is helping alot. I realized that I have been stuck for awhile, probably in a depression. I quit caring about myself.
The best advice I heard so far was at an Al Anon meeting. The lady said she wakes up in the morning and she stays in bed for a few extra minutes just thinking about what HER plans are for the day.
Thank you for being here.
