The nicer my AH is to me, the more I become willing to help him. I think this is what has kept me in this viscious circle for so long. I see glimpses of who he is (was) and know that man is buried in there some where. I also know that when I say "no" and it seems not to bother him, I feel weak. If I know that something I have done or said hit a nerve, I feel more powerful (sick eh).
Don't beat yourself up for helping him. It's what we are addicted to, at least I know I am anyway.
I hope you have a nice time with your kids for valentine's day!!
