I am reading a new book I got from my daughter at Christmas: How Starbucks Saved my Life. It is really good and one concept keeps coming up: respect. Respect for self and for others. I can see how I have fallen into the habit of not respecting myslef or others especially my AH. The interactions are so twisted sometimes, and I do not often treat him with the respect he deserves for being a human being and my husband. I know that I can't fix everything today, or perhaps ever. But I think it is just possible that if I can learn to treat myself and my AH with respect, things would improve.

Love is a decision.

Respect is a decision.

Sounds like you're having some revelations.

Respect is huge. Sometimes, when we start to respect ourselves, our partners see the change and he/she might learn to respect others and themselves.
