Am I Going Crazy or Did I Dream This?

I saw Jazz's comments in Houston28's thread today. He said I must have mistakingly replied to the wrong thread, so I re-read the thread and he's right, I did. At least I think I did....

I went looking for the "other thread" and for the life of me I can't find it today. The other thread I was attempting to reply to was posted by a gentleman who said he'd hired a (mostly toothless) handyman to refurbish his wife's barn and she began an affair with him. He went on to say that she'd been abusing alcohol and drugs, was leaving his rather small children at home unattended, was spending hours on the phone talking to him in the barn, was staying out all night, had wrecked the car multiple times, lied repeatedly about everything, you get the picture. Hence, my response in Houston's thread.

Now when I describe all this, it sounds far-fetched and almost dreamlike, but I have enough experience with alcoholism to know that scenarios like this are all too real.

But still I can't find the dang thread. Somebody please tell me, am I crazy? Was it just a dream? Did the thread get moved or deleted? Did I somehow read a thread on a different forum? Is pumpkin cheesecake a mind-altering drug? I had a slice last night just before bed....

Help me before I go completely mad....

Hmmmm....

I've been pretty voraciously reading all the threads here over the past few days, and that story doesn't sound even vaguely familiar (interesting, though!!).

Still, it's possible that I missed it.

It's a mystery!!!!

Whoa there! Its time for PCA (pumpkin cheesecakers Anonymous) for you. Sounds like serious denial to me. "One slice before bedtime"....ha!....that's what they all say.

When I hit my PCA bottom, I was up to half a pie at a sitting, but I was only saying i'd had "a slice before bedtime" too.

Don't worry. There IS hope for you in the PCA rooms. we wil love you till you can love yourself.....

but seriously. I don't recall the thread. sounds interesting tho..

(I'm sorry for laughing, but)

FD, I just did a search too, on "barn", "handyman", etc. for the last week and didn't find anything. Unless maybe your mind filled in those details...I remember threads about wives gone awry, but nothing to do with a toothless handyman.

Hallucinogenic pumpkin cheesecake? Sign me up

Hey, I can quit any time I want. I can!

Holy schmoley. Houston, we have a problem!

OK, so if I dreamed that whole scenario, what the heck did I do? Sleep walk, plug in the computer, and reply? Because I DID reply.

And the scariest part of it all is I was just about to cut myself another slice tonight and brew a cup of coffee to go along with it.

And GiveLove, I searched on the words "barn" and "toothless" and found NOTHING, either.

WTF?

Thank you, thank you, Denny (we must have posted at the same time because somehow your post preceeded mine). Not because I now know I'm not crazy, but I CAN have my cheesecake!!

Now that that's solved, can you please tell us how to make pumpkin cheesecake?

I ordered it online from Harry and David. Paid $40 for a small cheesecake. But apparently, it's no regular pumpkin cheesecake. Because it had me thinking I was crazy.

And boy, the dreams I had last night. I won't go into that....

FORTY BUCKS FOR A CHEESECAKE???? FD, you're an excellent cook and baker. Do ya think you could have made one just as good for a bit less?

I think it's the white chocolate raspberry cake you OD'd on during Thanksgiving. Yeah, that's it. All that sugar has you hallucinating.

Was there a post? Was it yanked? Hey, I'm blonde, so I have a legitimate excuse for being lost in the fog ....

Excuse me while I check out my Harry & David's catlog sitting here. I HAVE to check out this cheesecake!!!

You remember my Thanksgiving dinner menu, don't you? Well, at the last minute, I decided I really NEEDED that pumpkin cheesecake, but couldn't possibly whip up one more dish. So I ordered it online. Besides it's obvious hallucinatory effects, it wasn't as good as the pumpkin cheesecake available from the Cheesecake Factory. And that one only costs $25.00.

But, of course, when the urge to eat hits me, any cheesecake will do. As long as I get my "fix." Imagine coming home from a hard day's work and finding a cheesecake waiting at your front door.

Oh, the humanity....

Just giving you guys a little fore-warning. My coffee is almost ready and I'm about to indulge in another slice of cheesecake. If I take a turn for the worse, begin talking nonsense, and posting in the wrong threads again, please ignore me. But know that it was GOOD....

What happened to women managing their finances? All lost to a piece of cheesecake?

Thank you, Denny ... you just made my evening.

BTW, I hired a male "interpretive dancer" who happens to have a pilot's license to fly you to Pomona AND Bakersfield. (What a set of pecs - WOW!!!) I'll leave it your imagination as to what sort of "uniform" he'll be wearing for the flight ... :bounce

It's an addiction. There's no other explanation. I'm about to take my first bite....

UMMMM

Coming back to reality now. We'll talk money later. Can't let it interfere with the flavor experience....
