I cannot believe my ears! I am so proud...
Hi guys,
I just HAD to post...
This Tursday marks 90 days of sobriety for my husband; And this past weekend brought with it the first real test in his recovery. On Wednesday I took the kids with me to go visit my sister and neice... I was gone for 5 days. Before I left, I was all tied up in knots because I was so worried for him (and myself ) - In the past, 5 days alone, with no responsibilities for my husband ALWAYS brought with it a binge. His parents were sick with worry... I was too (but practiced my "letting go: ). And he did just fine! yay!!
G was asked to play softball in a tournament, and he hummed and hawed over whther he should go or not. He kept asking me what I thought, and running his plans by me etc. I did not respond in the best way... but in the end, I told him to do whatever he wanted. And he DID play, and he had a BLAST! And he was SOBER! In fact, he even went to the ball dance on Saturday night until 2 in the morning. He said that it felt so good - he saw all the other guys drunk and falling over, mouthing off etc... and he was just GLAD it wasn't him.
Words cannot explain how happy I am for him (and me ). I am saying a special gratitude prayer tonight, because I have so much to be thankful for.
I guess TODAY is an "up" day.
Thanks
Meg

It just goes to show you that no matter how much you worry or don't, he will make his own decisions....and isn't it nice when the decisions are good ones.
I'm happy for you, Meg, and amd sending huge hugs and prayers that this good run just keeps getting better.

Yaaaaay!
I'm so happy for you (and him).
Squinty had 30 days on Friday. I congratulated him, and he was surprised I knew. I'm afraid, though that he is still looking for reasons to drink. He makes a lot of comments.......
This Tuesday night (tomorrow) will be a true test for him. My family (brothers and sister) are getting together. Sooooo.....
I'll let you know how it goes.
I'm so happy for you!
Hugs,
Lyn
