What should I do?

The other shoe dropped. He called and said he is coming by to pick up his truck at the neighbors and his clothes. Well, his clothes are all in the garage so that's not a problem. I don't think he realizes that I didn't pay the traffic violation and his license is suspended. Should I tell him? Or just let him suffer the consequences if he is stopped?

I would maintain as little contact as possible, telling him is probably asking for trouble.

More background is needed. Are you the one where he gave you the money to pay the citation, and you failed to do so?

He didn't give me the money. He said to put it on my credit card and he'd repay me. And haven't we all heard that before. I'll be honest....I actually did try to pay it but couldn't do it online or by phone. So it was a traffic violation, it needed to be paid by the 12th and it wasn't.

In that case, I agree with hadenoughnow, let him get his stuff ad go. Make sure he gets everything so there is no reason to come back.

He has so much stuff that it will take weeks to sort it out and get it out of here.
I'm sure he will take all his clothes now but he has tools and boats and trailers and everything under the sun. And he's going to a sober house so won't have a place to keep them. I'm not making excuses....it's just the reality of it.

And I hate sitting here on pins and needles waiting for him to show up. This is what I don't want in my life anymore.

Make an appointment with him to do this, as in a specific time.

Do you have anyone who can be there with you at the time he comes? That may help as well..

Thanks everyone! He came, picked up enough clothes for the next couple of weeks and I told him to call to make an appointment for anything else he needs.
