I completely agree. You're having to re-train their thinking when it comes to Joe. You're not trying to make it harder for them to see him. Just making it work better for everyone. Hope you didn't think I was being short with my response. It boogles my mind at the ability (or lack thereof) of some adults to understand what a juggling act kids are! It is great that they are remaining a part of his life and being other role models for him. Thumbs up for their time, but thumbs down for the way they take it!
