Thanks Heather ,but none of those have my area on it. I googled it also and couldn't find anything in my area. I know they surely have to have them in my area though because its a local number in the phone book. But they gave me another number to dial and so on as I said.... So IDK !
You know I think it may be the same here as well. One lady did mention on the phone that she was giving me a AA number... so maybe.
You know, I know the feeling, it's sorta like the run around i got with my therapist's office. It's frustrating...and I don't exactly know any other way to deal with those things but to whine I hope in time to learn to let it go.
anyway...
BMight I suggest you look in your local newspaper. My hometown lists those meetings for the week on a certain day.

Here is the link that I use for Alanon, I think it may be the same one hbb used to locate meeting in your state. (fwi..it's listed in the sticky section)
How to find a meeting in the US/Canada/Puerto Rico
Another way to find meetings is to call local rehab centers and/or halfway houses since they refer families of their clients to Alanon.

Keep trying Lacy, don't give up. You might even go to an AA meeting and ask some of the members if they know where Al-Anon meetings are held. It's not uncommon for some of us alcoholics to attend meetings for both programs.

Lacy, Keep trying and don't give up. The first meeting I went to was on a Tuesday evening. I got the informaiton from my local newspaper. The doors were locked and nobody showed up except me. It was a lonely feeling. But I was so desparate that on the following Monday, I went to another Al-Anon meeting. That was 31 years ago and I am so grateful that I followed through by finding another meeting.
Al-Anon members who answer telephone calls are volunteers. Most members work. So, they may be slower getting back to you. Also, volunteers change and records may be out of date. Once you know the day, place, and time of a meeting, you can always Google it or call the facility during the day.
Another way to get meeting information is to call 888-425-2666 8 am to 6 pm ET. That telephone number is operated by the Al-Anon Family Group Headquarters, Inc., the international office of Al-Anon located in Virginia Beach, VA. It has nationwide meeting information.
Once you get to an AL-Anon meeting, you will meet other Al-Anon members and can get their telephone numbers there so that you can speak with them after the meeting or at another time convenient for both of you. Not going to Al-Anon sooner was the biggest mistake I ever made. So, I hope you will be persistent because meeting other people who understand drinking as an illness will make a world of difference to you. On-line is great for a "quick or interim fix," but there is no substitute for face to face human connections.
