Ok so this is kind of random but I am a little freaked out b/c I have to take a drug test for a new job and the other night I was around people smoking weed. Now usually don't associate with these people but I was with a friend and had no other way to get home. Now it was inside and fairly close to me but I never like felt the affect from it. I just recieved the job of my dreams and now I have to take this test tonight and I am wondering if I could test postive even though I never smoke weed ever

My friends think I am worrying over nothing but I am just a little concerned. Anyone know about this?

well its not but just curious. I mean I am going to get it done but was just wondering if anyone knew. I don't know how to not worry anyway....it is in me....you have to see my dad!!!

If you do test positive and you tell them you have never smoked weed, they will let you re-take the test. But i really really really really doubt it would show up if you were just around them smoking it, and didnt smoke it at all yourself.

Well I am hoping it won't either and it was over a week ago but i would hate it if I lost this job over that....especially since I never smoked it.

Worrying I agree is not going to make it any better! Put positive vibes out there-or just eat a poppy seed bagel then you could fail the test and just tell them what you ate! (Trying to lighten you up here) Good Luck

If you test bad, I would think they would let you re-test with a stronger test. The hair one is supposed to be the best indicator because there is a huge history in your hair. Why do you think Britney Spears shaved her head? There was a pile of drugs in it.

You can't get high enough levels in your system from being around someone smoking pot. (have a friend that got busted & they get randomly tested every month) That friend can never use that as a excuse if they were to test positive. Probation Officer Says SO!

You would have actually inhaled & smoked it for it to show up in your system.

You should be just find Design!

Thanks Christin for your response. Someone told me that there had to be a certain level in your system so I was not that worried but just wanted to confirm it....thank you. This job that i recieved is what I have my degree in and it has taken soooo long to get here i don't want anytihing to mess it up.

If you are worried, then buy yourself a drug test kit...they are widely available. Look on line for a source or call a local lab. I believe you will be fine since you were not smoking. If one was to smoke they say wait one month before being tested. Good luck.

I had the same fear years ago when I was still in the U.S.A.F. I was at a Rolling Stones concert and got tested the following Monday, the guy sitting next to me (as many others that night) was smoking a joint. Never heard a thing back after the test. Don't worry too much.

Ok So I think that I need to go on anxiety medicine......Took the drug test and physical and already recieved the results in the office and Everything is ok. Geez why do I worry about this stuff? Guess I am just used to worrying from being with the xabf....LOL.

So finally after 4 yrs I have recieved my design position(real design position)!!!! So happy.

I feel so proud of myself that I was able to stay so strong through this break up and kept on improving myself. I mean there were days that it was hard to even wake up and do this stuff but i pushed myself b/c I refused to let the xabf ruin anymore of my life. It payed off and now I am feeling very happy tonight. My b-days on friday and i got the job that i have been wanting for a long time(went through 4 Long interviews for this job)!!!

I will be celebrating like crazy this weekend.

If I was ever out with my ex and he insisted on driving, I learned to have a backup plan.
