Today, I'm having a virtual birthday party and you're invited!
The party theme is "New person emerges, change is taking place!"
Butterfly decor this year! I have a butterfly designed cake waiting for after work! I also stopped to get flowers this morning for my desk and found a nice bouquet of daisies with a butterfly ribbon already attached! Coincidence, I don't think so anymore.
Thank you to everyone who has helped with kind words and gentle nudges. I'm on my way to really getting through the cocoon this time around!

Hi Aztchr: How was your birthday? And your cake? I hope you had ice cream on the side with a little chocolate sauce and whipped cream. And something else good on the side....Well, that would be my idea of a good birthday.

I had a really nice day! My students sang to me during each class period, and they tried to guess my age. It was funny to hear the range of numbers.
The cake was great. It was decorated in purple and had 2 keepsake silk butterflies sitting on top. I made a couple of wishes and my niece helped me blow out sparkler type candles.
We had fun and were silly, and I let myself which is something I need to keep doing! I really am my true self around my niece. I have to work thru why I think I need to be different around others or even by myself. I'll save that for a different thread!
