Update on A son

Just a quick update on my A son. He went to his court hearing yesterday (to find out if he was going to lose his deferment and possibly go to jail). The judge told him that he was "hanging by a thread" and that they only thing that saved him was his voluntary return to intensive outpatient treatment.

He is back in AA meetings and seems to have a really good attitude toward the IOT and his own recovery.

I went to my first family meeting tonight at the recovery center. Very nice group of people. You can see the pain etched on their faces though. It makes me sad to see people in such pain and makes me wonder if there is sadness etched on my face too or if concentrating on my own recovery has erased some of it.

No matter what is going on with your son, you are awesome. Your own path to recovery insprires me. It really is fantastic news that your son is back in recovery.
It does make our own journey easier when we have hope for our sons.

I'll bet you are beautiful, with or without any pain etched on your face. You have faced things in life that many never see, and are still able to provide gentle hugs to others. Thanks for that and hugs of encouragement for the days to come. Spread a little of that kindness over yourself today, sweetie.
