One of the sites listed above launch "bots". Had my virus program and firewall all upset. I'm not sure which one. I pulled up all of them at the same time. Can't wait to look into the sites again to figure out which ones are safe. Not right now though.

I use Site Advisor, Trend-Micro RUBotted, along with a firewall. Got a teen who gets into internet site trouble often, so I take alot of precautions! Also use Watchdog which tells you if something tries to install on your computer.
When I go to the "Miracles" site, Windows tells me that there is a certificate error, and ask whether to exit or trust publisher. Here's what came up, again today, when I chose to trust the site.
Trend Micro RUBbotted says this:
Bot Found
Someone has launched malicious software on your computer by remote control.
You can use Trend Micro HouseCall to clean your computer for free.
Glad it works for y'all.

thanx for the heads up on the Miracles website. I've been hanging around their al-anon chat room for many years, and have not found any bots or virii. What it _does_ have is an automatic launch of Java, along with an automatic download of Java if it does not already exist on your computer. If you have your firewall and other protection set very high this Java download will generate the warnings you mention. Java is used by many chat program for perfectly legitimate reasons, but it is also used for malicious reasons by unscrupulous folks.
If your teen gets in trouble on the internet a lot then you are absolutely correct in having your security set to high, and in not allowing programs like Java to download to your computer.
