Stop that codie

I am having a total codie moment right now:codiepolice

Ah and I were talking tdoay and he said that he had some positive news. I said that is great I love positive news.
He continued..... he had made himself a counceling apptmnt and that he called one of the guys from his AA list (not his sponsor). He said get to a meeting right away (this makes sense to me). He said well I called this guy cause his story was a lot like mine (I am thinking ok sounds alright). Then he says well he still drinks (I am thinking ??what??). Ah continues and says well its okay though cause he has raised three kids etc..

This is where the codie in me just wanted to jump out and take control of this situation.....Man I was biting my tongue!

Then I did it :codiepolice uhhh I said do you really think that is best. Maybe you should call your sponsor.
He said you can't understand...and someother stuff I can't remember cause I was trying so hard not to go off about this.

So please remind me of what I already know and tell me to step away and let him be. He will find his recovery when he is ready

I don't think you need to be reminded, you seemed to handle it well.

What your post did was remind ME of the exact thing I need to hear. Every morning when I wake up I have been asking God to just help me let go and remember that this journey is his and nothing I do or say will make a difference. I also ask God to watch over him and help him as he sees fit.

Letting go and stepping back is hard when you love someone. Good for You!
