spoke up at a meeting

I've been attending Alanon for a year and a half now and it's always been hard for me to speak up. I know you don't have to speak and can always pass but I don't feel I'll get anything out if I don't speak. Anyway tonight the topic was on detachment and I spoke about how it was before Alanon and how it is now and two people told me they liked what I said! I couldn't believe it! Usually I feel like a babbling idiot but I tonight I felt like I actually made sense. Thanks for listening!

Hey Summer

Hi Summer,
Everytime you speak at a meeting it will get easier and easier. When I am sharing I am thinking to myself "what in the world are you talking about, you don't even make sense". But you never know, you might say one thing that helps another person out.
I think you are doing great!!
Keep going back......

Hugs Sharlene

Great Summer!!

When I went to my first face to face, I thought I would sit back and just listen. I shared my first time!! It was a great feeling.

Way to go Summer!!

Many hugs,
Debbie

((((((((Summer)))))

Good for you!

I can never remember what I've said meetings especially at meetings other than my own home group....but the good news is You had the courage to speak up and that's a step in the right direction...

I read somewhere I have to tell the story
to feel the pain, to get on with my life.....I believe that to be so true....

The secerts I keep will keep me sick....If I can't talk about it the elaphant is back in the living room and I am going backwards...SOMETHING I never want to do again...

I have yet to go to a meeting that something wasn't said that I can use in my own recovery.

Love and prayers
