Getting a nose job
Hey gang, just stopping by to wave hello. Feeling much better every day, although still a long ways from well. The good news is that there seem to be no harmful effects from having a hole punched in my skull. The bad news is that the rooms of AA are full of comedians that just can't let that opportunity pass. Including my sponsor. As teach would say; oy vey!!!
My eyeballs don't track real well, and my attention span sucks, so I'm not much use on the puter. I'll stop in longer as I am able.
((((((( luv )))))))))) all you guys

Oh yeah, and as far as the details. What happened is that the little roto-rooter drill thingy the were using to scrape out the damaged tissues from my sinuses "snagged" on a bit of bone at the base of my skull. The tool fractured the bone and sent a spray of bone chips into my brain, causing all kinds of problems. Fortunately, there just happened to be a hot-shot neurosurgeon visiting right at that moment and he was able to dig out all the little pieces save one.
I've had plenty of medication, good docs and bed rest. My poor girlfriend is the one who has been beside herself with worry. She has lots of support too, and other than ocassional bouts of uncontrolled crying she's recovering just fine. I'll be posting more and more as I feel better, and eventually I hope to make a full recovery from this latest encounter with the medical system.
You guys are all awesome, and I deeply appreciate all your posts and little "thank you" notes.
