Making the holidays good for me

This idea was started by Embraced2000 and Mazey last year. The original thread has been lost amongst the many crashes, but here is the cached copy outta Google.

I'm going to see if I can make that cellophane butterfly I tried last year, stick it on my tree as a way of celebrating my new life, and remembering all you wonderful people that made it possible.

Mike :)

I think I'll do that this year too! I don't know what it will be yet, but I'm inspired by two things right now....1. a key (to represent that I hold the key to my own happiness), and 2. A lit candle (representing the light that I found here from all of you...and, to light the way for others that are just beginning their journey out of the darkness).

Maybe I'll just have to do two this year! :)

One thing I am doing this Christmas to make it special for me is to make several donations to groups helping those who need help in a variety of ways. I have bought several goats and cows for folks in a village in Africa, paid a bit toward a new home for those in need on a reservation in Arizona and gave some money to the local food bank.

I decided this year was my year to truly give back as my personal celebration of Christmas.

That's beautiful Barbara! What a wonderful gift you have given to those in need, and, to yourself too!!! :)

Barbara, you are what Christmas is about!
I make Christmas ornaments for family and friends. Having so many new friends after years of isolation, makes this Christmas really special for me!
