Quiet Celebration
Quiet Celebration
Just wanted to give a ray of hope.
Tonight, in a small celebration (we had a snow storm today so small meeting) tonight my husband was presented this 3 year chip.
I spoke briefly stating I was glad he finally realized he was worthy of sobriety.
So for all of you who are dealing with the still suffering alcoholic, there is hope. Hope for them, but also hope for yourself whether they get sober or not. Al anon has taught me that I can take care of myself with or without my spouse and that knowledge gives me comfort and peace in my life. I know 3 years of sobriety can be lost in a heartbeat, before Al anon that would have devestated me, today it would disappoint me, but I would be able to take care of myself and allow him to take care of himself, knowing I can not control anyone but myself. What peace that gives me!
God bless all of you, take care of you, pray for your alcoholic.
TODAY I AM GRATEFUL

Thanks, Mine has not found true sobriety yet. I pray he does. I wish you and your H the best. It's good to hear success stories here. And may I say- I am from Iowa, and I LOVE it! I also miss it- the wide open spaces, the stars. . .
Congratulations to you and your husband. That is GREAT news. I wish you both a lifetime of continued happiness. Sounds like you both are working together a great program. I too am not with my exabf but i do wish him a lifetime of sobriety and health.
