At the time it seemed my only friend was my dog. She is the whole world to me and always loves me know matter what. She sleeps with me everynight and I put my arm around her and hug up close to her. I just love my pup.

nothing fancy with me either.
I was getting to a point where I thought nothing would ever change and I was worried about my health. So in 2008, I will have faith that I will not go on alcoholic binges and that I can do better than drinking every night. Not being perfect doesn't mean that I failed and should just give up and give in. If I try better - I will do better.
So far, so good. Staying on track day to day. faith08

I really like the purple and fuschia violets at the Metropolitan Market in Seattle. I used them as centerpieces for my wedding in March.

Violets make me smile! : )

Mine was for my grandkids at the time I joined
J - Jackson
A - Alexia
P - Payton
I - Isabella
C - Caroline
05 - # of grandkids

I probably should change it tho - I have since added a Jace & Brooklyn is due 01-02-08!!

The way we keep adding grandchildren - maybe I should use my own name - Rita!!

My name, like my profile signature, is a reminder to myself. I can't forget what I'm here for, and can't lose perspective if I read that every day!!

Mine explains itself. I could tell you how many beers were in the fridge at all times. Hear a beer can open from anywhere in the house. I was really good at it. Except it made me crazy. Thankfully this website and a good counsler helped me along with hanging up the hat.

my original SR name was Nutz...
I was going out of my freaken mind at the time.
not new to recovery.. there's a slogon
Not Uderstanding The Steps.

I changed it becuase i forgot my password. So i change it to my
Birth name. Most people don't know me by my first name.
But i felt more comfortable with myself or felt like I was learning
for about me. It means sunshine..only people that I open up to
knows that.

My avatar was one I grabbed off this website because I'm the proud "momma" of two purebred Cornish Rex cats. The name "prodigal" comes from the parable of the prodigal son in the Book of Luke, 15th chapter. Whatever your religious persuasion, or lack thereof, I think it is a compelling story and one worth reading.

The prodigal asked his father to give him inheritance up front. He took it, went out into the world and spent the money on wine, women, and song; in other words, this young guy was going to party to the max! He eventually found himself broke and feeding pigs - a real no-no for a Jewish boy who was not permitted by law to eat pork! When this kid realized he was starving to death and had gone through all the money his father had so generously given him, he started running home to beg his father's forgiveness.

Far off in the distance, his dad saw him running towards home and commanded the house servants to get his finest robe to place on his son and to kill the fatted calf in order to have a welcome-home feast.

"Let us have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found."

my name

Mine shouldn't be too hard to figure out!!? I am not too creative; and usually use my real name/initials combo. I remembererd this from a subject line of an email a friend send me recently and thought "that's it"!! It is a "no win situation". I don't win by staying; and I don't feel like much of a winner by leaving. I know I do feel better though.

I just realized that my name could also read "now in situation" -- which is also true!!

I came to believe that we are a triangle: Mind, body + spirit.
I have spent my life honing my intellectual and physical self. Periodically I took more classes or considered another degree for a new career on top of the multiple degrees I already had. Or I upped my exercise having been a runner for yrs. along with playing multiple competitive sports.
At this stage of life, I came to see that the spiritual/emotional side was underdeveloped. That is where my emphasis is today. As a nonaddict I have come to know that the 12-steps are powerful in my life.
The day I joined SR my name here quickly came to mind without much thought.
But now I see it is fitting.

Nothin' fancy ... just my name! I wanted to use my AOL name Cremevette, but then I decided I didn't want the XABF Googling me and seeing my posts. Phooey on him! I should have used it anyway!
