Minneapolis Minnesota Bridge

Just wanted to ask that we all send prayers out to these people in MN. My brother lives 2 miles from the bridge and we were frantic last night-until we found he and his wife were safe at home. Along with my friends family who also are South of the bridge and close by! There are members in here that I know live in MN and possible near there. Let's all please send prayers and healing thought to all those families. There are still approx. 30 missing

I'm from Minnesota and all of my family is still there. It's hard to believe something so horrible happened. Most people in Minnesota and from there are freaked out because almost all of them have been on that bridge. I keep thinking, "There but for the grace of God, go I." My prayers go out to the families of the injured, dead, and missing.

Prayers for all those affected by this horrible accident.

Especially praying for strength for the rescue workers and those DOT employees who will be doing recovery and removal work. On a normal day, those guys are prepared to see a snake, alligator, fish, etc. - but the DOT employees do not see on a regular basis what they may have to see over the next few days.

HP please give them strength!

Rita

Interestingly enough both my SIL and her ABIL called last night to make sure I was safe and wasn't on that bridge.

I work in the city but not in Mpls and I hardly ever use that bridge. Still it was nice to know they cared and were concerned enough to call.

This possibility of tragedy spreads far and wide. My W does daycare for a lady who's best friend normally jogs under that bridge after work. Yesterday she decided to run before work. This friend commented that she always thought the bridge sounded rather unsafe when she jogged under it. Thank goodness she wasn't jogging when it collapsed.

This scares the crap out of me. How many more dilapitated bridges are there around the city? There are a lot of bridges seeing there are several rivers running through the metro area.

I live in Minneapolis and personally I'm surprised that the Lowry Bridge hasn't collapsed yet. It's been "structurally unsound" for years.

Everybody I know, including my ex-A, is ok. Found out about the ex from our mutual friend, who was with him yesterday. If they'd left about 5 minutes earlier they'd have been on it. Although I haven't spoken to my ex since February (and still don't intend to) I was glad to know he's ok.

I live in Minneapolis and used to live right by the bridge. I have many friends that spoke today about how yesterday they traveled over that bridge 3 or 4 times. It is very somber here today.

hi, I live in mpls., too. I wonder why they did not fix that bridge before since it only got a safety rating of 4 out of 9 and is the most traveled bridge in the state.
