Cops: Man killed trying to stop drunk-driving girlfriend in Centereach
Drunk but intent on driving, Jesenia Vega fought off her boyfriend as she left a Centereach block party and got into her car, Suffolk police said.
"You're going to get arrested," Louis Wiederer, 26, of Westbury, warned his girlfriend, a witness heard them arguing late Saturday. "You can't drive like that!"
With that, Vega, 27, of Carle Place, put her key in the ignition and drove off -- as Wiederer hung onto an open window. She continued north, dragging him on the pavement, then underneath her car before coming to a stop three blocks later, police and witnesses said.

OMG, that is just horrifying!!!!!! That man died way too young and all because of his fiance's irresponsible actions!!!!
I clicked the link and there is a picture of him - as well as a phot of the car that was involved.
I truly cannot imagine how angry and truly devastated these families are. Just another example of the tragedy that alcohol can bring to anyone's life, whether there is alcoholism involved or not.
So sad.

wow, that's horrible. he was so young.
in october, in one of the chicago suburbs, 2 teens got in a car and drove into a tree after drinking at a house party before homecoming. today, the parents were found guilty of allowing them to drink in their house, and for trying to cover up the fact that they knew the drinking was taking place in their basement. i'm so glad the court system isn't taking this lightly.

OMG!"Ditto" this is so sad...
I had a flashback of an ex from years ago-did not have a drinking problem but we had went to a wedding-and he was DRUNK....he dropped me at his house as I was staying the night-he wanted to go back out and I said no please do not go...as I placed my hand on the window and he put it up and started to drive down the street. I was lucky I was so skinny back then I was able to wiggle free!
How so horryifying as SS said!
Lets all say a prayer for this poor guys family-

I don't mean for this to be insensitive or disrespectful in any way, but this story gives a whole new horrible meaning to the phrase 'let go or be dragged'!
My heart goes out to his family and everyone else that loves him.
