A lighthearted share of our recovery, Sunshine and Brighteyes.
A lighthearted share of our recovery, Sunshine and Brighteyes.
Hi, I am a recovering alcoholic (Sunshine) and my lover of 18 years is
recovering (and clean) from breast cancer. Most of the time we do the
right thing, we eat the right foods, we share our inner most feelings of
fear and how we can best overcome or live them. One thing we do is encourage,
and share our love, hope, compassion and laughter.
I wish all were as blessed as us.
Heres the funny thing I wanted to share...I came home yesterday, (5th month sober) and my Brighteyes greeted me, and was acting a little strange, I was thinking oh know, her doctor called and somethings wrong, or she thinks I drank, etc.
Well, she was acting a little strange because usually I say hi, we hug, ask about our days, and then I go to the computer room and come on here, but instead I thought I would not do that and stay with her longer.
Well, finally my mother called and I had to go to the computer room to get some information for her, and whalla, on the desk was a card and some flowers. Silly how my mind went to the worst possible thoughts...
But the funniest part is, we are low on money, so she shared her story of how the flowers were on sale, and after she bought the coffee and bannanas on the list she still had enough to buy the flowers, with a nickle to spare....we laughed so hard tears
rolled and we hugged each other so hard the dog jumped on us, and said, hey what aboutme....
I hope this light hearted share lifts your heart alittle today...
