I start school on Monday! Yep.... I'm going to be a nurse or die trying!

Wish me luck I'm scared to death, I'm going to be the oldest in the class! Better late than never right?

WOW !! how brave you are ! good for you , nursing is such a great profession , i applaud you ! Having a dream and going for it is so self gratifying .

Oldest in the class .. I doubt it but you will definitely be the wisest !

I am a nurse and it was the best choice I ever made in my life--it made me financially independant--and I loved the job--now you can enable your patients--they need it--instead of your A--who doesn't need it. There is so much to learn--so many different fields to choose from--I am so happy for you!!!
Too OLD---One lady in my class was in her 60s (I was in my early 20s)
She did fine.....you will to....

It will be well worth it!! One of my greatest accomplishments was finishing my MBA at 41. There is nothing like that feeling! And... you have the done hardest thing and that is starting ;-) You'll also be amazed at how time flies. Before you know it, you'll be telling us about your pinning. ;-)

Hi Kermit, I don't know how old you are, but 31/2 years ago at

the age of 44 I decided to go back to college. I got my associates

degree last Dec, 06 and I am 47 and continuing on my bachelors in

psychology. We are never to old to do something different. I am a full time teacher assistant, who will eventually be a student counselor.

I am happy for you, and enjoy school, I know I was scared at first, but I

Kermie, you are my hero! Very strong, independent, and brave. It's always a little scary to try something new. When those first pangs of fear rise to the surface remember this:

It's a sign of recovery. It's a sign that you're moving forward in your life and making new, healthy choices. It's actions like these that result in real changes in our lives.

Who knows what's next in your life? Perhaps a handsome young prince will happen upon you, sweep you up in his arms, plant a passionate kiss upon your lips, then poof the evil spell of alcoholism will be broken, and our little froggie will turn into the princess of peace and serenity.

Former.. maybe a nice Dr will be my prince?

This is going to be a long road for me, I'm starting out with doing all the Medical assisting courses, then move on to the LVN classes then Rn it will be 2yrs just to get through the first 2 courses. But one I finish the first 8 months I will be certified to work in as a medical assistant.
I want to take care of older people make there days brighter or work with termanally ill people, make their last days more comfortabe and easier to let go.

You will make a fabulous nurse, Kermie. My mother and aunt were both nurses and they enjoyed their jobs immensely. Since most women these days find their future husbands at work, chances are good that the new Mr. Kermie will be a doctor. Here's hoping you'll find a Dr. McDreamy for yourself.
