The Family Afterword!... to Da Mam'ma

this is for all the mothers of alcoholics...

i was at a BB meets last night, and the reading was The Family Afterword... for some reason it was like a explosion going off in my head... there was a paragraph that stood out like it never did before ... Those of us who have spent much time in the world of the Spiritual make-believe have eventually seen the childishness of it. This dream world has been replaced by a greater sence of purpose, accompanied by a growing consciousness of the power of God in our lives."... well i related it to my dear departed Granny, the one who believed all of her life {103 yrs}... and also Da Mam'ma... my loving, careing, enableing, understanding, worrying, always beeing there, praying and believeing Mom... that women has more faith, next to my Granny then anyone i have ever met... now that i have shown by my actions, i'm the son she had
always believed i could be. growing up, and becomeing a adult... we talk now of the Powers, God, Life, Love, and all the things she dreamed of... if i should fail, i believe we will start all over again... she believes... I Love You Mamma... Happy Easter, your son, Patrick

and a "Happy Easter" to all the family and friends of...

thanks for being a part of my life...

xxoo & blessings...

Thanks soul bro Rusty.

Maybe tonite we can remeber these forums are for hurting folks wherever the pain comes from, whatever the cause,
there is always a friend to relate to, another to comfort,
someone else to cry with, another to cheer.

I honor my Mother who prayed while I was doing it,
never stopped believing in me, and forgave me while I was doing it. Unbelievable. She showed me the very Grace of God.

To all Moms of Addicted children: :flow:

Thanks so much Patrick- you brought tears to my eyes, but they are happy ones. One year ago my son was 'out' missing and living a very dangerous life.
Today he is safe and in rehab and we often have the kind of talks you describe with Da Mam'ma.
Happy Easter to you, Patrick! And to all of you here on F&F!

The 12 lovelies - from the BB pages 83-84

1. We know a new freedom and happiness.
2. We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it.
3. We will comprehend the word "serenity".
4. We will know peace.
5. We will see how our experiences would benefit others.
6. That feeling of uselessness and self-pity will disappear.
7. We will lose interest in selfish things.
8. Self-seeking will slip away.
9. Our whole attitude and outlook on life will change.
10. Fear of people and economic insecurity will leave us.
11. We will intuitively know how to handle situations that used to baffle us.
12. We will realize that God is doing for us what we couldn’t do for ourselves.

makes me shiver from the top of my head to the tips of my toes :)

A humorous aside. I was rhe only one who visited Mother

today, but last evening after reading Rusty's post, I was so

inspired to go and see her and tell her I was going to

church today. I drove over, got on my knees, and cried in

her her lap and thanked her again for all the things Rust's

and my mom, and all of you mom's have done.

She patted me on the head and said, "I always knew

you weren't evil, honey, just a little sick in the head." I

stopped crying and rolled on the floor and laughed.

Happy Easter night to all Moms of addicted children.

Thanks for that inspiration soul bro'.
