To Frizzy & everyone else - $20
$20
A well-known speaker started off a seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?" Hands started going up. He said, "I am going to give this $20 bill to one of you, but first, let me do this." He proceeded to crumple the dollar bill up. He then asked, "Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air. "Well," he replied, "what if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. "Now who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air. "My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it, because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20." Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. Sometimes we might feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value: dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who love you. The worth of our lives comes not in what we do, or who we know, but by who we are.
You are priceless - Don't ever forget it.
My AH got this at one of his times at inpatient rehab.
I was reading another post by frizzylynn - and wanted to respond but didn't want it lost in the length of her post.
Sorry to all those who thought I'd give them $20 - I'm not that rich!
Thanks---I swaer I am having a major meltdown here---you have broken through with your kind story--now I can release and have a good cry for myself--pity pot--it is much needed---thank you----seems I do feel freaky and 'dirty' most of the time--I need to face that and deal with it
Frizzy,
I read your other post (confused) and knew exactly what I needed to find.
I had put a copy of it in a plastic tote on top or my dresser - underneath the stack of blankets.
So I climbed on my bed moved everything out of the way and found the packet I had put it in.
I just knew someday it would be useful.
If not for my AH then someone.
See - you were even worth all my effort.
Think Spring!! Always makes me feel better.
