Update

Just wanted you all to know that "for now" things for G seem to be improving. He was released from jail and his first stop was here to see the kids. The next day, he came back to see the kids. After that, he moved in with his sister. He has seen the kids each weekend since he's been out of jail and has gone to a temp agency to get some work. Yesterday and today he held up a sign for a store for five hours on the street. His attitude about it is good.

He is not seeking the support of AA. Just kinda leads me to believe that although he is doing good now and making better choices, he will end up right back where he was before he went to jail. I pray that don't happen, but......... who knows.

I pray he continues to do good....for himself and most importantly for the kids.

As for me, I'm doing good! I'm making choices that are healthy for me and (to the best of my knowledge) healthy for my kids. I'm going to make an appointment to meet with my lawyer to start the filing for divorce. I'm scared and nervous at the same time, but it has to be done. I believe that G and I can still stay on a good level with each other. This does not mean I don't love him. All this means is I love myself and the kids more and that I don't accept the choices he has made which has affected or could affect me or the kids.

ps.....not a day goes by I don't think of my friends here. I only wish I could stop by more often...just seems that since I stopped obsessively worrying about G, my time and attention has been elsewhere. Miss you guys.

Thanks for checking in, Jess. Glad to hear about G; don't worry about the AA thing - some will say it's the only way, but many others stay sober without it.

Stop in when you can - always good to hear from you.
