disappointed

at al-anon meeting last night, the group decided to dis-band until spring time!!!! i've never heard of this. they were all in agreement, cept me. but group conscience thing and all.

they are all long timers, some work together, some live close by each other....i travel the furthest....90 minutes round trip.

i'm really disappointed.....they say it's too cold, too far out in the boonies, time to close up for winter.....

i guess come corn shuckin time, they'll dis-band for harvest time.

i'm the first new blood they have had in over two years.....they were lickin their chops when i came on board.....new material.

aw well, i'll still see them....they drop by very often. and they are only a phone call away.

guess it's time to branch out and try to sniff out another meeting.

may be a good experience.

My goodness that's odd. Here it feels like we're getting to the blessed end of winter ... just a few more weeks ...

It is strange..... unless you live in southern Indiana in the winter time. Northern NY has received 72 inches of snow in the past couple of days with another two feet on the way. Whiteouts and bitter cold. I'd rather know you are safe and warm until planting time.

ya think they're avoiding me?????

oh, don't anyone answer that.....i couldn't take it. i am much too fragile. lol

i bet if i drug in another newbie, they'd get all excited again. and start doing their hocus pocus on them.

You are dull, you are way too strong to be interesting. I think it is a testiment to your recovery.

Wow...that is odd. I am actually not involved in al-anon as I'm pretty busy with the AA meetings at this point. I can't imagine them closing an AA mtg for winter!
Wish we lived closer Jer...I'd grab a java and discuss dysfunction with you any day!
Peace and love and bright shiny blessings...

Maybe it's cause you keep trying to make everyone do the "Humpty Dance" from 1988. I told you they weren't into it.

Speaking of "sniffing out another meeting," did you wear deodorant to the meeting? I mean, were you Sure or Unsure?

Thanks embraced! I really needed a laugh this morning!

I can't imagine closing a meeting for the winter. It's like saying the doctor is out until the weather thaws out.

Cross the border and we can meet!

Just imagine those pioneer women stuck in the cabin until Spring with the old geezer and his jug. Come the thaw, I'd probably need the undertaker instead of Alanon.

Well lure in the Adirondack Moutains where I live says that the pioneers ate bark to survive the brutal winters. I'd be darned if I'd chew pine bark and and listen to that quacking. Hey, ducks are delicious! hummmm. The secrets of the women who came before us........
