There is a meeting next week, but it's not an official alanon one posted on the website. It's held at a church and there are many topics. The one I was going to go to is on codependency. The meeting I was thinking about it closer and at a good time. Do I need to start at an alanon meeting first?

I dont see why you would have to start with al-anon. Codependency classes sound good to me..that may be a nice way to ease into recovery.. give it a shot...theres no rule about how you have to start getting yourself well

I'm definitely ready to leave the past behind and make choices for me. I'm tired of not feeling like myself because I'm worried about others reactions. No more tiptoeing around anyone and putting myself last. Self-care is not being selfish. I knew this once before, but buried it during the last 5 years with my exabf. Now I really need to practice it, especially since I'll be living by myself soon. I want to have all the support in place for when I have little setbacks.
