You are truly an amazing woman with amazing strength. Your story has touched my heart and opened my eyes.

(It hit me too because Mr. m is originally from Acton!)

Hugs,
marteen

I can't really find the words to thank you for sharing this. It's touched my heart deeply. I am so sorry for the loss of your soul mate and I am in awe of your stength and commitment to helping by making your story known. I lost my soul mate (not to addiction) and recently lost my child to addiction. Knowing she has found a peace she couldn't in this life helps so much, and most days I can find my own peace and happiness. Your post has helped me so on a day I really needed it. Thank you.

Thank you so much, Janet, for sharing this with us.

I too have lost someone who was unwilling to live for The Addict any more, and took her own life rather than continue on, dragging the people she loved behind her. The suffering was unbelievable; I am amazed and deeply moved by your ability (and the writer's ability) to capture the feelings behind it all in words. I never could; this has really helped me, even now, 20 years later.

Love and support to you

Thanks so much to all of you for your kind words. I plan on doing all I can to make sure my husband did not die in vain. He cared so much about other people and cared so little for himself. Whatever I do in regards to educating people about addiction and suicide will be done for him. He wouldn't have wished his life on his worst enemy. His addiction and death has given my life a real purpose. I hope he knows he left me with more than a very sweet note and some happy memories. Yeah, I think he knows.
