It is done...
Oh Janet, I want to thank you for sharing the obituary. Putting a face, a real life to these tragic stories is truly painful but it serves as a reminder how serious this disease is. There are real humans with beautiful qualities and varied intersts that are suffering from this illness. For those of us who may waver in our decisions, who may continue to enable, or who may be making choices about a future commited to an addict might be enlightened by this story. And hopefully those on a quest for recovery will be strengthened by the knowledge of the consquences that you've brought out in the open here.
My heart goes out to you. You are a beautiful soul. Love to you and your family.

(((Janet))) Yours is the news we all dread so much, yet you said this with such grace.
I am sorry for the incredible loss. I am sorry for your pain, past, present and future. I am so sorry.
(((TomsGirl))) Please know you are both in my prayers.

dear tom's girl,
i want to send my deepest sympathy to you. i am a mother of a 39 year old alcoholic son. i so often wonder if this is how he will stop his "demons" one day. it's horrible to say, but if they can't do it on their own after years and years of "so-called trying", i wonder if the best place for them might not be with God. i can relate to you saying you don't have to worry anymore - you know where he is - you know is is now safe. we spend so much of our lives worrying about them - wondering if they are safe, dead or alive, in jail or in the hospital. it's a total nightmare.
i'm sure your loss will be felt forever, but know he is at peace, and in a strange way - so are you.
God Bless You now and always, lucy
