Hi butternut,
Welcome to SR. I'm glad you found us here! I understand the fear too. Please make yourself at home here, take some time to read posts and the stickys at the top of the forum page. There are so many caring people here who will be coming along to say hello and share with you.
If and when you like, please feel free to let us know a little bit about yourself.
Remember that others care and you don't have to be alone.

I look forward to getting to know you.
Welcome to SR Butternut.
I remember all too well the mixed emotions that came when my AH would try, or promise to stop the drinking. The hope mixed with fear, dread, etc.
I hope that you'll take some time to settle in, read through the forum, and be sure to check out the stickies for some really valuable and great posts!
I look forward to hearing more from you!

Hello Butternut, and welcome to SoberRecovery.
I found that the best way to deal with the fear is to learn as much as I could about the disease and my part in it. You can start by reading the "sticky" posts at the top of the forum. Real life meetings are wonderful, I got to meet a lot of people who had overcome the challenges of living with an alkie/addict and helped me understand how I could also overcome them. We have some great meets here in Vegas, and I've heard there's a good one in Pahrump on Wednesdays. Here's a list of the meets in southern Nevada
