Hola all! Welcome to the Road to Fall thread! A new Chest & Forearms routine is over with. Added ten pounds to my bench press sets. Wasn’t supposed to. About halfway through I discovered I’d written the wrong weights down. I did manage to complete the routine though, I just won’t be increasing it next time. Forearms stuff went ok. I still have a few sets of Abs to do this evening. I may start doing them every day until I’m ready for more intense stuff. I’m just doing very beginner stuff now.

So this summer I’m going to try and work out nice & regular. No more multi week layoffs. Lose at least ten pounds. I’d like to add a good fifty pounds to my squats. Maybe twenty five to bench presses. Maybe thirty to deadlifts. Not so sure about those last two, lol. It’ll be a challenge!

Upstairs – Thanks for the new thread!

Once again the usual menu for me: some yoga, some weights, some circuit training. Six runs (81 km/50 mi). I did a 24 minute tempo run and my first 13,2-miler of the summer. It was hot so I basically jogged for the first eight miles and then I picked up the pace. Don't know if that made much sense because now it wasn't really an endurance workout and it wasn't a speed workout either, but at least my watch claimed it was "productive". Okay, I believe you, watch.

Take care everybody!

Hola all! Finally got around to doing my Back workout. I keep getting too sore from my legs workouts. I put off the back workouts that follow it. I reckon next time I’ll just do it anyway or maybe switch to something else that day. I’ll get into a regular routine one of these days! After the Back stuff I mowed grass for around an hour in this awful humidity that won’t go away. It just keeps raining and raining. So anyway, tomorrow’s my shoulders workout and probably some weed pulling for a bit. Well, since this summer started, my weight has gone a couple pounds in the wrong direction. So now it’s at least twelve pounds to lose now. Take care all!

Great job on your workouts Midwest! I’ve never tried to find even more exercises to do while I was hiking, lol.

Great job getting started Purps! I remember your videos are pretty rough workouts!

Plop - impressive runs! You’re making me think I really need to add in some cardio somewhere in my week!

Hola all and happy hump day! Shoulders day. For a change, I actually felt like working out! I think it’s due mostly to getting enough sleep. I get tired & achy, it’s hard to get enthused about even more exercise. Anyway, I’m finally seeing some improvement in my shoulders strength wise. Those muscles have been really lagging behind everything else. Lost about a pound from yesterday. Still need to lose about a dozen more. Tomorrow’s routine is biceps and triceps. I may try to do some dips. I haven’t done those in ages. They probably build arm strength as much as anything else. That’s all for now!

Hola hola! Arms day. Biceps and triceps. Pretty good workout. I’m starting to get some pain again in the elbows with some of my triceps exercises. Hopefully that won’t progress too much. Never did those dips. Tomorrow’s routine is Legs. I have the day off so I’m not likely to skip them. The last couple legs workouts have left me really sore the following days and I wind up skipping routines until I’m better. Hopefully that won’t happen this time around! My scales have me going the wrong direction once again. At least I’m paying attention to it. That’s all for now!

Hola all and TGIF! Legs day is done! Went ok. Added a little weight here and there. I have noticed I feel a lot more confident doing heavier barbell squats now that I’ve been doing deadlifts. Can’t do squats without a strong back to go along with it. Hopefully I won’t be crazy sore on Sunday when it’s my back day. If they are, I’ll just do it anyway. I’m never going to get in better shape if I keep skipping workouts. Tomorrow’s routine is Chest and Forearms. Then a little yard work. It’s really pretty outside right now, so I’ll be happy getting out the house anyway. Have a great weekend all!

midwest1981 - congrats on the earlier hours? I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing, lol.

Hola all! Chest & Forearms were worked out today. I felt a lot stronger after I did a couple sets. I really need to start doing some warm up sets. Tomorrow’s routine is Back. I never got around to doing any yard work today so I’ll try for tomorrow. That’s all for now!

think it was three weeks ago yesterday since breaking toe. Feels much better come a long way.
but I did disappear off bike for awhile and felt it getting back on.
up riding Everyday in the Colorado Rockies this week and altitude has really kicked my butt. Beautiful riding along the rivers....so different from Arizona. Fun.
today after ride we packed a picinic lunch and drove out to an old ghost town to picinic and explore. Really fun.

Hi all! My boring routine goes on: yoga, circuit training, weights and six runs (70 km/43 mi), six one kilometer repeats with a four minute jog in between and eight 100 m repeats. The day I did the 100 m repeats was very hot and humid and I had to stop to catch my breath after the session. I decided to jog home really slowly but my heart rate wouldn't go down, so every now and then I stopped to read signs. My favourite one said "Got snow on your roof? Call us!" A classic case of supply and demand not meeting, I'd say.

My muscles love the heat but my body really has a hard time with the humidity. Stay safe!

Hafa Adai!!

plop, your successes sound great to me! I'm glad you're okay. Have you had that experience before?
Huge kudos & big shout outs to all here.

Hot yoga, minimal running and super trusting of the timing, meditation, spiritual life playgrounding.

Hola all! Had a great Back workout. Those pesky legs of mine weren’t a problem today. I made a note of when Plop said his muscles liked the heat. So I did something differently, I left my hockey jersey on over my T-shirt as I worked out. I I worked up a sweat quickly and I just felt much stronger for it. Usually when I lift weights I dress as lightly as I can with a big fan going. I don’t even break a sweat most times. Might have to experiment with the heavier outfits. Anyway, back is done! Tomorrow’s routine is shoulders provided my spine doesn’t act up overnight. I hope everyone had a great weekend!

oh. About to wrestle with the lawn mower for a while. Probably burn about half a yogurt cup off.

Nike, Upstairs, Prpl, Plop, and Midwest. You have all been cranking it, still trying catch up with you.
Well today I cranked out a 40 miler between Aspen and Basalt and back. Beautiful ride. But like the past few days....blame it on elevation.......can’t be my age right?.....I am comfortably numb as I sit here at end of day.
so for the past 4 days got in about 110 mikes total which was fun, challenging, and most of all beautiful.
so headed down to an organic farm that has a historic in New Mexico tomorrow for a couple days.
So I’ve had the opposite strategy this week.....digging the cool temperatures. Back home my muscles are plenty warm and have no trouble breaking a sweat!
Tomorrow is time to stiffen up nice in the car with a 7 hour drive!
Enjoying the late afternoon here for now so no worries. All worth it.
