Hey all, my fitness is suffering from the pandemic and living with an octogenarian. I kinda hate to start something I won't keep going but I need some help and so here I am.

Santiago, I have been on the Basalt Aspen, Rio Grand Trail, lovely. I can imagine the altitude is tough.

All I did today was 20 min of easy yoga. Tomorrow will try for a bit more and some crunches and sit ups.

Bekindalways – Welcome!

Nike – Thanks for caring! No, I haven't experienced anything like that before, and eight times 100 meters after a twenty minute warmup jog is not a long or a hard workout. But I didn't feel dizzy and there wasn't any chest pain or anything, so I'm not going to be worried just yet. I suppose it was the humidity and my body temperature got a bit too high.

Upstairs – I know running's totally different from lifting weights, but for me the main thing about heat is that my muscles don't get stiff even though they get tired.

Santiago- I am glad you were able to get away for awhile. The 110 miles is amazing!!

Plop- great job on the runs, circuit training, and yoga! That is funny about the billboard sign. I like to read those too and I want to make a coffee table book with all billboards. haha. I know that sounds silly but I kind of thought that would be neat to do. You could go serious or funny.

Upstairs- I notice a lot of people working out in hoodies & sweatshirts. Do you play hockey or like to watch it? Great job on the back workout.

Nikegoddess- the hot yoga sounds relaxing.

I skipped yesterday but I am off two days so I'll report back.

Well, I did 40 push ups, 100 crunches, 25 min of easy yoga and a 15 min walk with 2 weights 4lbs each . . . .not much but at least off the couch.

Hafa Adai!

Back to basics & loving a slow, easy magical pace today. Prayer, meditation, sleep, yoga, yoga, yoga. Getting a fabulous yoga vibe going.

plop, need electrolytes, sea salt,, or ?

I've had experiences with sea salt added to spring water being exactly what was necessary during high heat days.

Stay safe!

Welcome Bekindalways! Sounds like a great workout to me!

Hola all! Shoulders were worked out today. Felt really strong throughout the sets. Much better than struggling to just get through them all. Course about an hour after I’ve stopped my muscles start reminding me the sets weren’t so easy after all. So tomorrow’s routine is biceps and triceps. For me this seems like one of my less taxing workouts. And I guess I’ll cut some grass if I can squeeze it in there. I have some retirees for neighbors that maintain these immaculate lawns. My place looks like the “before yard care” photos next to their “after” photos. Least I can do is try and keep it cut regular. Okay. Enough for now!

Midwest1981 - No, I don’t play or watch hockey, lol. I just bought some blank, practice jerseys to work out in. I’ve grown to like them though 😀

Nice work everyone ~ Welcome BKA!

Went for a walk earlier w/ some music....not counting it as a workout, but in FL it's already warm in the morning so I worked up a pretty good sweat....meditation done too....I need to get back into the videos!

I am glad to see everyone still getting it done.

Monday- push mowed
Tuesday- 30 minutes strength training and I am going to the gym soon. I'll probably do 30 minutes elliptical.

Hola all! It feels later in than week then Tuesday. Ugh. So today was my biceps & triceps day. Went pretty well. A little weaker than last time. My sleep has been poor the last couple nights. I still put in the same effort though. Mostly. Weight is up another pound. Ugh. Tomorrow’s routine is Legs. I still got some leg routines to go before I feel like I’m pushing myself again. Take care all!

Purps - walks count! It’s good exercise 👍

midwest1981 - great job! I remember liking the elliptical machines, they ddnt seem as boring as the bikes

Hola all and happy hump day! Legs day is done! The stairs are not going to be my friend this evening! Glad I did them though. I didnít really want to, but I didnít have a good reason not to. Pouring down rain outside and nothing is sore or bothering me. So may as well crank it out. Next barbell squat routine I do, I guess Iíll make use of the safety bars. Iím going heavy enough on the later sets where I could eventually fail on a rep. I have the bench press safety bars on there, but theyíre set much lower than whatís needed on squats. Anyway! Body weight is happily refusing to go down with wishful thinking. My first step I guess will be cutting out my before bed snacks/meals. Iím really going to miss those! Iíll see if that does anything. Tomorrowís routine is Chest, Forearms, & Neck! I bought a neck strap thing Iím going to try out. Hopefully I wonít hurt myself with it. Thatís all for now!

Purps - Great job working out in the morning! Takes a lot of will power!

Sigh . . . the last 3 days I have done excellent workouts for the over 80 age group. Problem, I'm not 60 yet.

Today, I zoomed with my sister and tried out screen sharing a yoga video. It worked okay. I do wish there was a yoga series by and for old fat men. It is really what my Dad needs and it is easier for me to adapt yoga than for my Dad.

Anyhow, keep it up all no matter how teeny the workout!

Hola all. Chest, forearms, and neck were worked out today. Couldn’t quite straighten my right arm all the way on my heaviest rep in bench presses, but otherwise they went ok. I really shouldn’t have tried to rack it like that as sometimes I get the bar racked on one side but not the other. Then things get real noisy. My neck sets with the new neck strap thing we’re something of a disaster, lol. It’s not an easy thing to fit on your head, Maybe next time I’ll have better luck with it. Tomorrow’s routine is Back. I’m probably going to need lots of caffeine for that one.

Bekindalways - there’s bound to be some yoga or exercise routines for the elderly or very beginners out there. I think that’s what you were asking about. I think those exercise bands have a lot of potential. It doesn’t take a lot of room or equipment. Hope that was of some help!

Purps - great job on the walk! I definitely need to do something like that. My dog needs it too. My vet tried to break the news as delicately as possible that my dog needs to slim down, 🐶

BKA: I've heard of "Chair Yoga" (I think that's what it's called) but I suggested it to my mom.....she said she found a video on Youtube and enjoyed it. Maybe that'll help?

Decided to to a quick routine this morning w/ Shaun T ~ "Party Express" ~ only 25 minutes but hopefully that'll help me get through the day.

Nice work everyone!
