shotgun!!

Upstairs- thanks for the new thread! great job getting in your back workout. It is hard right now to get motivated....at least it is for me!

Butcher- I hope the adjustment goes smoothly on going to graveyard shift.

Mango- I am glad to see you taking good care of yourself.

I skipped working out yesterday. My husband had a doctor appointment and then I had to get his medicine. I was wore out by the evening but I got it done today!

30 minute - arms, abs, legs
25 minute- walk

I am excited for the warmer weather! I hope you all are doing good.

Evening all! Upstairs good job on new road and I don't mind seeing summer in it that's for sure! Midwest a skip day is needed sometimes. Good for joints and muscles to rest up. Had one yesterday myself. Purps great job staying the course! Chest and back tonight. Went good! Worked up to 315 for a single. Felt good. Starting to see some consistency in my bench and hoping it stays that way if I work on it. My upright rows didn't go the best but all else did. Hopeing to do deads tommorow night . Well see how that goes .If not I'll do them Saturday. Gonna maybe redo my days of week and start the week with squats and back and keep deads closer to weekend .Just an idea. Hope all of you have a great night!!

Butcher- it wouldn't hurt to try a different workout schedule! Let us know how it goes.

Purp- good to hear from you! That sounds like a fun workout.

I walked 2.5 miles on the treadmill and I did 15 minutes of body weight exercises! I really worked up a sweat...my house must be warmer then the gym.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!! Our governor is going to issue a shelter in place order starting tomorrow. I don't think it will be a whole lot different then what we are already doing. I guess we shall see! I hope It don't cause any panic.

Evening all! Glad to see everyone kicking butt! Midwest were shelter in place too.. well see if it changes. People are starting to settle in and calm down some so that's a good thing. Well tonight I type this out humbled. Had a rough night at work. Figured I would take it out on my weights. Set up for deadlifts. Decided I was gonna recheck max. 135 adding plates to 495 than 555 than put 605 on. Was mad enough I thought I could pull it.... 605 had other plans and stayed firmly on the ground. Thought I would reset my max and try 575.....got that to knees than failed..... Went down to 455 for my sets (4x5) got to the 3rd set and my hips and back were just done. So I sit here humbled. 605, tonight anyway is a long, long ways away. I'm gonna get there!!! Anyway think I'm taking the weekend off. If it's not too cold might throw the tire to get some cardio in. Hope all of you are doing well and hope all of you have a great weekend!!!! Stay safe out there!!!!

Butcher- I am sure we have all had workouts like that! I hope it is nice enough you can get some cardio in this weekend.

I helped my husband carry somethings he couldn't because of an arthritis attack- 100 calories

Strength training (legs mostly)
200 calories

1 mile walk
100 calories

Upstairs Ė thanks for the new thread!

Midwest Ė weighted bars made of pipes and sand used to be all the rage when I was a kid. It's a very good option!

This week six runs (72 km/44 mi) including a tempo session and a speedwork session. I was in trouble with my 100 m strides because I couldn't find the sweet spot, I was always going too fast or too slow. Not a lot of people outside and everyone's steering well clear of each other.

In addition, some circuit training and yoga at home. I did my yoga nude (because why not?) and became a source of amusement to my wife. Desperate times, desperate measures and all that.

Stay safe everyone!

Purplrks3647- great job on the workout and thanks for the quote! Very true.

30 minute dumbbell arms & 2 mile walk. It snowed today and it coated the ground. It will be 50 tomorrow. I am excited about that.

Hola all! Finally posting in the new thread! Chest day. Added on some weight from last time. Ended up a couple reps of 250lbs. You know, one fun benefit of losing some strength is I donít have to haul as many weight plates around. That gets old!

I wasnít a total sloth the last few days. Iíve been mowing the grass for the first time plus the usual root and weed pulling and such. Definitely not used to it. I did that an hour or two a day and weightlifting kinda got put on the back burner. Sooner or later Iíll get in good enough shape to do both! Or at least 100% of one and 50% of the other, lol.

I can't wait for the shelter-in-place to be over so I can go sea kayaking. I also am dreaming about things like camping trips, or going to LA so I can actually hike in Griffith Park and go body surfing (water is so, so much colder here y'all).

So those are my dreams for the summer at the moment.

Until then, I am following (or attempting to follow) a recovery plan that will both support me in not drinking, but actively working on my recovery so I am not feeding the underlying problems while I am in seclusion - I don't want to go binge drink as soon as I have wider, free access to alcohol again, nor do I want to spend my shelter-in-place depressed and miserable on social media all day.

Part of that includes diet and exercise.

Today I took a long walk outdoors. I also ate healthy plant-based meals.

Breakfast - Left over sticky rice with agave syrup and cashew milk. Coffee.

Lunch - Tofu, onion, spinach, mushrooms, and cooked whole grain corkscrew pasta sauteed in canola oil, balsamic vinegar, salt n pepper, "Italian herbs," and a little fresh basil.

I'm also drinking lots of water with a twist of lime, and tea all day.

Dinner - will probably be leftovers from lunch. Maybe with toast and margarine.

Snacks - if I need snacks I have apples, oranges, or carrot sticks/peanut butter

My goal is to lose weight I put on while binge drinking and being careless about my eating habits. I don't have a specific number, I don't weigh myself unless I am at the doctor or a gym or spa. I just want to feel healthy, fit and attractive. I want to feel fit and energetic enough that I could easily backpack this summer.

Hafa Adai!

There are things not found on the internet. At least lately I've been coming across more of them - people, places, stories relayed, etc. Life is big, connected in spiritual ways, full of harmony, balance and in trusting prayer and healthy instincts, I feel sure, grounded, loved and energized.

Yoga, meditation, light weights and running this morning. More things to do = more meditation first.

Bulletproof-ish coffee for breakfast. I'm currently using solidified coconut oil instead of straight-up mct oil. MCT, medium chain triglycerides part of coconut oil is something I love. Simply enjoying making use of what's on hand.

Some days I drink bulletproof coffee before breakfast and it may be later in the day that I officially have breakfast, some days bulletproof coffee is my mid-day go-to snack for sustained power.

Power: the ability to do something

Nerding out on combining meditation, prayer and looking up words in dictionaries, as shown to me by my first sponsor. I don't know what I don't know and imagination is more important than knowledge. Take what you like and leave the rest leaves great room for instinctive maneuvering of one's own path.

Game plan: increase weights, run for fun, world as my playground -- my I have eyes, ears and heart open to seeing, hearing and feeling inspiration.

A little more on MCTs. Grounding my retention level on this. I like recalling details later on.

"Unlike other fats, MCTs go straight from the gut to the liver. From here, they are used as a source of energy or turned into ketones."

"During exercise, rising lactate levels can negatively impact exercise performance.

MCTs may help reduce lactate buildup. One study found that athletes who took 6 grams or about 1.5 teaspoons of MCTs with food before cycling had lower lactate levels and found it easier to exercise, compared to those taking LCTs."

Welcome BeckoningCat! Backpacking sounds really fun.

Mango- thanks for all the information on MCT.

Upstairs- I noticed I have some weeds to pull too.

Butcher- great job on the chest workout!

Two gyms in town posted workouts so I did one round of both and once it warms up I am going to walk a few miles outside!
