Hafa Adai!

Mood: light-hearted

Yoga. Meditation. Emotional/mental/physical stamina increasing.

Light weights.

World is my playground. Balancing, running, making use of my breath.

I appreciate SR, online meetings, the recovery process and joyful, productive days.

Evening everyone.
LOVE seeing the posts!

Plop- I know how frustrating it can be to want ďall the moonsĒ come in to alignment for planned peaking for an event. All that hard work to lead to that point.....but from an outsider not emotionally involved....cut yourself some slack. Your still at a high level of fitness.
oh and my music.....Iím a classic rock of the 60-70s guy. Iím the 62 year old guy thinking 62 is the new 32 physically....and still in the Mindset of thinking like an 18 year old!

butcher - love your intensity and drive. And I think As far as pull-ups go...perhaps we should let go of our ďdreading sufferingĒ and adopt Upstairs attitude.....Ē itís really easy for me to reach failureĒ! I like that attitude! and then just try to get one more!

so today was Sunday - Funday for me.
planned a 16 mile ride with some rolling climbs followed by an afternoon by my backyard pool.
had a tire issue at 8 miles but still got in 8 miles....40 minutes....and 673 ft. of elevation gain.
and laying out by the pool? I was really good at that....felt great!

Hello! I haven't posted in a while, I'd better do it before I forget what I've done!

Wednesday - walked 1.5 miles

Thursday - walked 3 miles

Friday - maybe walked 1/2 mile, very rainy and wasn't feeling it, just went out for air

Yesterday (Saturday) - walked 1 mile

Today - walked 2 miles

Every day - between 10 to 20 minutes of stretching, qigong moves from memory, deep breathing, yoga postures

Looking forward to being done with all of my classes in the coming week and recommitting myself to longer qigong video routines! I feel like I've slacked off, but at least I've kept moving.

Nice job BeckoningCat.
Well today I did a strength training workout, but it was not my best. Even close. Last night a slept badly for whatever reason and woke up pretty awake at 3:30 for no good reason.
So not whining, but I just knew today’s workout was going to be a struggle .
I managed to put in about 45 minutes.
a good nights sleep and tomorrow is a new day!

Purp- that is great about the extra weight!

BeckoningCat- I think I did forget what I did.

Okay so I opened the activity app on my phone to check!

Thursday- skipped
Friday- skipped
Saturday- 22 minutes strength training
Sunday-skipped
Monday-43 minutes strength training
Tuesday- 1.15 mile hike and 18 minutes strength training

I had a super busy week at work...a coworker in a different department came down with covid. So the whole thing is crazy! I feel good so I guess I keep moving on and be careful. I work the next six days so I'll check in when I can. Great job everyone keeping up with the exercising.

Purplrks.....nice job with the progressive resistance!
Midwest...hang in there for 6 days and most of all be safe!

well today was WORK AND REWARD.
To take a brake from the heat I drove 1/2 hour up the mountain to 7000 feet.
20 degrees cooler up there.
rode 5.5 miles up for a total elevation gain of 1335 feet.
then a fast decent to get to the reward.
packed a lunch to picnic out at a mountain lake.
beautiful 65-71 degrees up there. Perfect riding.
so a good little ride and break from the routine.
Sleep Hard everyone!

Evening all! Glad to see everyone getting after it!! Beckoning great job on the walks and yoga!! Purps nice gain on using extra hand weights! Crazy now we can notice even a small amount so much! Santiago that ride sounds awesome! I love mountains and live smack in the middle of completly flat land! Midwest!- be safe!!! We're getting tripped to rescue calls with some covid patients and it's definitely a uneasy feeling!! Hope your 6 days go fast and your out of there safe and sound!!

Well.... Last week or so has been interesting for work and lifting life. Dented my squad car in a chase..... Not my fault but dang I hate seeing it like that. It will be fixed soon. Work has been absolutely wild. Wife is starting a diet and I agreed to do it with her so it's easy for meals.. I have been eating vegetables... And not just potatoes like before! Like the green ones. Not sure how I feel about it yet. Honestly could drop 15 or so lbs. Weighing 275 last I checked. I know I put on muscle but know my waistline is bigger also. For sure miss the carbs lifting heavy definitely run out of fuel sooner. Hopefully body will adjust.

Workout wise. Monday, crushed a chest workout. Did some overload work with my slingshot. Went up to 335 on straight bar . Tuesday was shoulders. Got all my sets and all my accessory work. Went up to 475 with chains for shrugs. Should of went a little heavier but just did extra sets. Tonight was squats and back and pullups till failure. Went lighter on my chest supported rows but took a wider grip. Really felt those more! For squats I stayed at 355 and did more reps. My knees were bothering me so didn't push the issue.

All I got for the night! Y'all stay safe and keep kicking butt!!

Butcher- I am sorry to hear about your squad car. I hope it is fixed already. I hope the new diet goes well too. The workouts on Monday & Tuesday sound awesome. I am glad they are going well for you.

Santiago- I love reading about your biking adventures. They all sound really fun.

Nikegoddess- great job with the yoga, running, & meditation.

Work is going good. No problems...but we were super busy today.

Wednesday- 25 minutes strength training
Thursday- 25 minutes strength training
Friday- trimmed the yard real quick...20 minutes
Saturday- 25 minutes strength training in the yard. lol.

The gym is opening back up in June but only for personal training and outdoor classes. I hope I can squeeze in some outdoor classes.

Butcher – sorry to hear about the car.

Managed to do some yoga, some strength training and six runs this week (75 km/47 mi). I did a 25 minute tempo run and twentty 200 m repeats at 3 k pace with 200 m jog recovery. It wasn't as boring as it sounds. I also almost had a collision with a young deer, he or she jumped out of a bush right in front of me and we were both lucky I wasn't going any faster. I didn't think I was being very stealthy running down the road but I guess I was.

Good to see everyone keeping at it. Take care!

Evening all! Thanks for the well wishes on the car. It's in the shop and hopefully done before work Monday. Not damaged bad , think it's just the whole first new one ive had and that was the first dent and damage to it. Be glad to have to back I am not a huge fan of sharing a car but if that the worst problem I have I'm doing pretty good!!

plop great job on the run a and glad you didn't collide with the deer! Dang good story though!!

Midwest hope you get some outside sessions in! Hope the weather is nice if you do!

Nikegoddess awesome job on staying in the zone and having fun with staying in shape!

Took last few days off. Today got after some deadlifts. Went good will had a guest stop by the house and I had to go talk to them halfway through. Got cooled off and couldn't get back in the groove of it when I got to lifting. Before that though I worked up to 475x3, 495x2, 515x1 and had 535 on the bar and didn't get the chance to try it. Gonna supplement some rack pulls in on Wednesday hopefully to make up for missed sets. Hope all of you have a great weekend!!!!! Keep kicking butt!!!!

Hello everyone.....been a busy boy with projects and still getting some good workouts in. Just not time to post for a hat ever reason.

butcher......Iím with you on could tame to lose 15 or so. Iím at 189 and 23.2 % body fat. Sh*t did I just say out loud almost a quarter of my weight is fat!? Yikes. Iím a much happy boy at about 175 and around 18%. Got some work to do.

nikegodess....nice mix / variety.

midwest.....nice workouts with all you all you having going on. And Iím all about the outdoor stuff or home gym right now ....canít envision workout facilities yet.

plop....very impressive volume. Serious miles.

So for me......

Wednesday- strength training.
Thursday 1 1/2 hours with sandbags....I bought an umbrella stand that supports an 11í umbrella. It weighs....200 lbs just the metal frame. You load 65 of sand into 4 containers that sit inside the frame. So I was bent over shaking sand into packing those containers. Picture cutting the corner of a 50lb plastic bag of sand and bend over shaking it and trying to funnel it into those containers. Seriously tired lower back at end! Now I have a 460 lb base for that umbrella!
Friday......Nice 20 mile bike ride.
Saturday .....More......projects.....
Sunday.....hour of strength training.

good week. Tomorrow a nice 20-30 miler on the bike planned.
have a nice Memorial Day everyone!

Evening all! Santiago great job on the workouts and I would hate to see the wind storm that would blow your umbrella stand away! Purps great job on the workout 35 minutes is awesome!! Chest tonight. Went eeh.... Ran out of steam in my 4th of 5 sets. Program called for 295x2.. nope. Got it once and knew a second would be a fail. Burnout set wanted 20 reps minimum. Got 12.... Pushups till failure, wanted 30+. Got 25. Than I decided if I am gonna drop weight and need to up my cardio and today being the first warm day of summer around here it was time for a run .. holy cow y'all. 1 mile... I felt every step damn near. Very humbling!!!!!! Definitely embarrassed. I do some HIT and stuff but probably 1/4 mile in I hit a bad wall. Didn't walk at all so could be worse but holy cow I got allot....and I mean allot of work to do on that . Usually I rest the day after deadlifts but good chance work is gonna get busy tommorow so decided to hit it tonight so I'm a day ahead. I'm gonna take a much needed shower and call it a night. Y'all have a great hopefully 3 day weekend!

Hi everyone!

Plop- 47 miles is impressive!

Santiago- the umbrella stand sounds really nice. I would be tired too. Sand is heavy. Great job on the variety of workouts!!

Nikegoddess- the meditation, yoga, and stretching sound relaxing.

Butcher- great job getting the cardio in. It won't take long and you will be doing fine on that. I hope your weekend at work was safe!

Purp- great job keeping up your exercise!

Sunday- 20 minutes strength training
Monday- skipped

I am off today and tomorrow so I will get some exercise in and post soon....lost 13lbs since starting the job and it seems to be holding there. I am pretty happy with that you can see my muscle gains. lol.

Hi friends ~ this morning I did a video combining strength + cardio, plus a bonus routine....total about 60+ minutes. I've only been averaging 2 workouts a week though...better than nothing but I'd like to fit in more somehow.....

Glad to see you all here
