I ran 5 miles today. I love to run when it is cold out. Clears my mind. Mango I would love to be able to skate....but afraid I would fall and break a bone (osteoporosis). I plan to do strength training this year to help. Shouldn't this thread be titled be Road to Spring 2020?

Hola all and happy New Year! Yea, I mulled over whether to call it 2020 or not and just went with 2019. Could be I erred, but in a few months it won’t matter. So! Today’s workout was Delts. Went great! Less pain in the overhead presses and I’m doing my most yet. I get a good workout with all the middle and rear delt stuff, but not adding any weight on either. Slow gaining in that department. Tomorrow’s routine is biceps and triceps.

Some bad news. I have decent bruising on my right pectoral region where it bothered me last Monday in bench presses . About the size of an open hand. I feel fine. Nothing feels tender. I benched just the bar for a couple dozen reps today and no pain. Bruising means something must have been tore I guess. If I wasn’t feeling so fit these days I guess I’d be really depressed about that.

Evening all! Shoulders tonight. Went good. Sitting here thinking I should of went harder... Not too tired. But got all my sets so there is that. Hit the ab wheel at the end did some bag work. In OHPs I put my chains on for my last set..... Wow did that suck! But it's done. Squats tommorow..... Ug... And should do back if it's not too sore. Happy New year to all of you!!!!

Decided to finish out my time off with a New Year's morning workout.....went back to Cize #2 video (since it's familiar) + the 8 minute abs....50 minutes total.

Still need to do guided meditation, but other than that I'm done for the day....Happy New Year everyone! :celebrate

Centered and balanced, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Enjoying my strength in this.

Good life nutrients: fresh air, time in nature, time with people I trust.

Delicious nutrient-full food.

Yoga, meditation, deep body stretches and rhythmic breathing.

Basketball in an indoor gym, soccer outside with my pup and running, just for the fun of it.

Hola all! Arms day. Everything went pretty much like normal. I was really careful while doing close grip bench presses and nothing bothered me. Tomorrowís routine is Legs and Forearms. So glad these holidays are over and done with.

Howdy all! Squats and back tonight. All went good. I do hate box squats....allot. but they are done. Did rows and pullups for back. For cardio a slam ball, tire drag, battle ropes and heavy bag circuit. That took any steam I had left out of me! Got 8 rounds. Wanted 10 but that was not happening. Hope all of you have a great night!!! Taking tommorow off and will check in Friday.

Happy new year everyone! I'm back. I've been running and doing some yoga, but I haven't been able to do any weight training because of nerve pain in my left arm. My neck's gotten too stiff and I've pinched a nerve, so now I need to get my neck moving. At least I can do pushups, so it's not all lost.

Bethany- it is nice to see you on this thread. The five mile run sounds refreshing!! I am not much of a runner so I am impressed!!

Plop- welcome back...sorry to hear about your pinched nerve. I am sure it can be annoying.

Tuesday- I ended up going back to the gym for a mile walk and 20 minutes on the stationary bike.

Wednesday- skipped

Thursday- 1 mile walk and 15 minute elliptical

Friday- body weight exercises...planks, wall sits, various squats, wall push ups, inch worms, lunges, and standing ab exercises.

Hola all and TGIF! Took yesterday off. I wasnít feeling well plus I got another irksome abdominal cramp, so I just went to sleep around 8pm. Seemed to do the trick! Todayís exercises were Legs and Forearms. Pretty easy workout. Iím going back to what I used to do with barbell squats. 10 reps first set, then progressively more weight and less reps. Back wasnít a problem. Rest went ok. I dunno what Iíll do about working out my chest tomorrow. Kinda hard to ignore all the bruising on my chest. The optimist in me thinks maybe I just blew a blood vessel or something. I feel normal. No pain in my chest. I did 200lbs for reps when I did close grip bench presses during my triceps workout on Wednesday. I think Iíll start light and just see what happens. If I start to experience that same discomfort as last weekend Iíll stop. Sounds like a plan!

Sorry to hear about that nerve pain, Plop! I have zero experience with that. Hope it gets better

Took two rest days Thursday & Friday.....this morning was my first attempt at Cize #5 (yikes!) and 8 minute abs ~ approx 50 minutes.

Hola all! Success on my Chest workout. After a few sets of lighter sets, I did my planned first four sets of my regular workout, but I went with a more narrow grip and stopped the bars a couple inches above my chest. I think it was that bottom part of the movement where you really stretch the chest that was bothering me. I chickened out with the heaviest sets. After those I did a few sets of twelve with 225lbs. The last couple sets I was bringing the bar all the way down. Whatever that bruising is from, I think it was a minor tear and a little warning that I need to be more careful. I guess overall I got an ok workout. I talked to a friend about it and they asked me did I need to go so heavy? Well, no. Itís just fun! I guess I can get over trying to go all out every session. Tomorrowís routine is Back plus lots of house cleaning. Ugh.

Hi all! Five runs this week (74 km/46 mi), some yoga and things like squats and pushups.

Upstairs Ė It's weird with the nerve because most of the time I don't feel anything out of the ordinary and my arm works just fine but with certain movements there's a sharp pain. It seems to be getting better though. By the way, I know going all out is fun but don't do it every day!

Hola all and happy Monday! Back day. Ugh. I decided to start about 40lbs heavier on my deadlifts so I could finish heavier than last time without doing so many sets. What happened was that first set felt really, really heavy. Thereís probably something to doing more warm up sets. I just donít learn. I ended up getting the same triple as last time on my heaviest set but I was hurting after. Rest of the workout went better. Hopefully a nightís rest will get me feeling better. I was just getting over my last back injury from three weeks ago. Iíll most likely do a shoulder workout tomorrow. Take care all!

Evening all! Glad to see everyone still kicking kicking butt!!! As my house got over the upper respiratory virus last week, we got the lower this weekend.. Friday night I did light chest, skipped deads wasnt feeling the best. That went ok. Still light on chest. Lost 8 lbs this weekend..... Not fun. Tonight did chest again fairly light than did deads cause I missed them on Friday. Planned on doing defecit deadlifts....never done them before. So started light. Standing on 25lb bumper plates. Worked up to 375 doing sets of 5. Had no issues.. long way to pull! Want to do some singles to keep the feel of heavy weight so wouldn't have weight shock next time. Worked up to 505 and it flew off the floor. Without even thinking much about it I put 525 on and before I could pump myself up or phych myselft out I pulled it clean!! Pretty dang happy right now! Shoulders tommorow night and something for cardio. Y'all have a great night!!!!
