Emme's Weight Loss & Fitness Tracker

Hi to anyone reading

Iím 16 months sober and think now is a good time to try and lose weight and get healthy. I rejoined my weight loss center a month ago but Iím struggling to stay committed and thought tracking my progress here might help. Iím an emotional eater, and I always have been. I sometimes feel like I will never get it under control, but Iím going to try again. Iíve lost 19lbs the last month, and my first goal is to lose 50lbs. I will want to lose more than that, but that is a reachable goal to start. Iíve lost 80+ pounds multiple times, but have always gained it back. Iím hoping this time I can lose it and keep it off for good.

I donít know if I can actually say what I eat on here, but hereís what I ate today:
Breakfast Ė 2 hard boiled eggs and melba toast + protein drink
Lunch Ė lemon wafers + protein drink
Dinner Ė I donít know yet. Itís not a good day and I donít know if I will stay on plan.

I also need to start some form of exercise. I have knee & back problems, and most recently shoulder, so pain makes it difficult to exercise, however I am sure there are some exercises I can do, I just need to find them. My mom had her knees, shoulders and hips all replaced, and I think I take after her.

Tomorrow is my weigh in day, but I am going to cancel. I didnít eat very well on Easter, and I think I am going to change my weigh in day as the lady I usually meet with is quite a bit younger than me, and I donít connect well with her. There are other ladies there that I have met with that Iím more comfortable with, but I donít want to come right out and say that to anyone, so I think changing days might work best.

Thatís it for now. I am going to try to check in every day or every other day

I wish you the best of luck and support. I really struggle with eating healthy myself and thought of starting an accountability thread myself so maybe I can join you in this. I usually eat healthy for a few days and then binge eat for a few. I get so frustrated with myself. My most difficult time is on the weekends. I am on day 3 right now.

Emme- best of luck on your fitness journey. Swimming and the stationary bike are low impact. Also the elliptical is easier on your knees then jogging. I love to walk myself.

Bethany, thanks for your support, it would be great to have you join me Weekends are the hardest for me too, although sometimes it’s just the day. If I had a bad day, I want to eat bad food. Great job on day 3!

Midwest, thank you! I used to love to walk too, I might try it again with short distances and see how my knees do. Thanks for the other suggestions. I have a stationary bike that is probably 25+ years old. It’s uncomfortable and I need to get a new one

I’m kind of happy to report I ate fairly well for dinner last night. I got a Turkey Jimmy Johns on wheat bread and threw one of the pieces of bread away. No mayo, but added mustard. It has my protein, veggies and carbs, plus a protein drink. The bread I’m technically not supposed to have but I’ve done it before and it doesn’t hurt me much if done infrequently.

Today
Breakfast – 2 hard boiled eggs & melba toast + protein drink
Lunch – Grilled chicken & Cranberry salad w/poppyseed dressing + protein drink
Dinner - I am thinking I might need to have the Lemon Wafers meal replacement as I have a hair appointment at 8pm and I don’t get off work until 7pm. I have a cat who is sick and needs a shot & medicine and food at 8 so I will need to give that a little early and won’t really have time for a meal. If I’m hungry when I get home, I will have some protein pudding that is on plan.

I’m feeling better and more committed today than yesterday. I didn’t go to my weigh in today and will probably skip this week entirely and go back next week. I used to weigh myself everyday, now I weigh myself on the days I weigh in at the clinic and that is it. I am trying to go more by how I feel than the scale.

Have a good day/evening everyone

emme glad you hear you are doing well and eating well. I am on day 4 here and I usually can get to day 5 or 6 and then fall off. I really want to make it through the weekend without binging. I do exercise which really helps. I am a runner - and once I run a few miles I don't feel like binge eating so it really helps. Only problem sometimes I am just too tired to do it. I have insomnia and I realize when I don't sleep well for a few nights I will binge eat. Tonight I have a fund raiser from work to go to and the food will be provided so I have to be careful! Best to you!

You got this emme! I have knee and ankle issues, but I love to hike and walk. I'd like to lose about 45lbs but I've been saying that for years and while I'm not getting heavier I'm also not making any progress.

The key issues for me are sugars and boredom eating. While I'm not really bored at work or home, I tend to snack all day long. I've found in the past that when I avoid sugars I start dropping pounds so I'm trying to get inspired but keep falling off the wagon, I'll check in here when I can and see how your progress is coming along.

I hope the fundraiser goes well Bethany! When I used to walk at night, they would help keep me on track too so I understand how running helps. I hope you have a good night's sleep tonight

Thanks Astro! I've been talking about losing weight for years too, so I get that. At least you're not gaining, that's something. Sugar is by far my biggest down fall. If there was no sugar, I would be doing ok. Wishing you inspiration & success Thanks for checking in.

A coworker brings in candy and I usually avoid it, but he brought some of it into a meeting and I had 3 pieces. So now I feel like the whole day is ruined and I might as well order a pizza. I'm not going to, but that's what my mind is saying to me.

Today
Breakfast - 2 hard boiled eggs, melba toast + protein drink
Lunch - Grilled chicken cranberry salad + protein drink
Dinner - I don't know for sure. I'm thinking a salad as I have lettuce I need to use.

I don't feel as motivated as yesterday, but still feel ok. I'm glad tomorrow is Friday!

That is SO ME Emme! I have one piece of candy or a few cookies and it is an avalanche~ I just cannot stop at one sometimes. Last night went good...lots of delicious desserts but I stayed away. So happy I am on day 5 but now is the hard part. Going out to dinner with friends tonight - you know sometimes I really do not even care to go to restaurants there are just too many temptations. I will post back tomorrow and get through it. Let's get through this weekend together!

Great job on day 5 Bethany! Iím glad you got through the event last night, that had to have been hard with the desserts. I hope you enjoyed your dinner tonight. It wasnít planned, but I went to dinner with my dad tonight. We both had steak, which is on my plan up to twice a week, so it worked out. I know what you mean though about the temptations at restaurants, I usually try to look at the menu before going so I can get an idea of what to order, although I donít always stick to it. Hoping we both do well this weekend!

All went well for me last night at dinner. Salad and vegetable was all I had and no cravings really. Let's get through this weekend emme (and all that want to join us). We can do it!

Hi everyone

I hope your weekend went well Bethany!

I didnít get food prep done yesterday like I planned, but I went through my pantry and got rid of all outdated food and food I canít have. Itís pretty empty, but I like it that way so I know what I have and things donít go to waste.

I didnít check in yesterday but I stayed on plan, except I skipped breakfast.

Today I had:
Breakfast: 2 hard boiled eggs, Melba toast, protein drink
Lunch: chicken, 1/2 oz cheese, cucumber/radish salad, small apple, protein drink
Dinner: chicken breast, steamed broccoli, Melba toast, protein drink
Maybe some sugar free jello, I havenít decided yet.

I am going to get weighed on Wednesday. I still might change my day but the weather is supposed to be bad tomorrow and there is no other good day this week. Iím not sure if Iíve lost any more, but someone commented on my weight loss today, and that always feels good and helps keep me motivated

Emme....You are doing great ....keep it up. I did not make it through the weekend. I just messed up on Saturday night...went to a buffet on an empty stomach. I know that was stupid. Learned a lesson and right back on the next day. I went swimming and running yesterday and feel much better today. Best to you.

Good job getting right back at it Bethany That is something I struggle with and the diet center also emphasizes, if you eat something you're not supposed to, just move on and get back on plan. Great job on the exercise too

Hi Ardy Glad to hear your Eddie Lee is doing better. Congrats on both of your weight loss! The food you make sounds really good, and healthy. I’m not much of a cook, I need to try new things. Glad to have you join us

Gatorman, congrats on your weight loss! That is awesome I’m going to get that book. I purchased a 17 week plan at my diet center, and will go as long as I can, but ultimately will need to switch to something I can do more long term. Thanks for sharing

Today I had:
Breakfast: 2 hard boiled eggs, small apple, protein drink
Lunch: Lemon wafers meal replacement, protein drink
Dinner: I’m going to have a grilled chicken salad

I’m really craving something sweet, and I have a headache which doesn’t help. I’m still at work but I need to leave because my coworker has chocolates in his candy dish, I wish he would leave them at home. I’m pretty hungry, and I need to figure out how to not let myself get too hungry because then my mind wanders to things I shouldn’t eat. I will say I’m not a Jello fan, but the sugar free Jello is tasting pretty darn good on this meal plan. I hope the weigh in goes ok tomorrow.

Hi everyone

I went to my weigh in, and I lost 9lbs This is over two weeks though because I didn't weigh in last week, but I'm still pretty happy about it. This brings me to 28 pounds lost, and I got to sign the 20lb board. I also got 10 entries into a $150 gift certificate for house cleaning. I'm really hoping I win, because my house needs it.

Today I had:
Breakfast: 2 hard boiled eggs, melba toast, protein drink
Lunch: Panera Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich (not on plan because no protein and too many carbs, but I'm allowing myself a little splurge on weigh in days)
Dinner: I don't know yet.

I bought some groceries online today to prepare this weekend. I planned on doing that last weekend and I want to have a good plan for next week. I don't cook much, but need to add some new things so I don't get tired of eating the same foods all of the time. My next weigh in is next Wednesday. I'm hoping I can hit 30lbs
