MW, so it's an outdoor pool you swim in? I look forward to adding swimming to my routine once I'm retired. No time now, and besides, can't get my hair and make-up all wet and then return to work.

An easy walk yesterday after stopping by the company BBQ. And since the temps have gone down a bit, we walked Lady after dinner. Real nice day.

No TRX today because the Admiral is coming out to talk to us (can't be in two places at once!). Hmm, what will I do? If it's sunny and warm enough, maybe an outdoor weighted walk. Otherwise, something in the gym.

Jiggs- that sounds like an amazing workout! Have a great weekend.

Ringo- if I am at home it is a indoor pool at the gym but this week I am traveling and it is a outdoor pool. Iíll actually be near your area next week for a quick five days with a outdoor pool again. So maybe Iíll be tan by the time I go home. I hope you enjoy the outdoor walks and have a nice weekend.

So so far I havenít decided what to do today. Most likely swim.

Happy Fatherís Day weekend!! It wasnít that long ago I had to get three Fatherís Day cards and now not any. So just enjoy your time with the family while you can.

Howdy all!! Glad to see everyone still after it!! Took yesterday off and tonight was the usual workout. Deadlifts, bench, squat. Deads went really well. No complaints at all. Got to bench and got 3 of 5 sets done and ran out of gas. Finished my sets but had to use a sling shot which is a bench assistance band. Finished but would not of got my sets without it. Halved my squat sets from 6 to 4.... Just really beat. Did two rounds of battle ropes, no pullups tonight. Very long day of work and I think it caught up to me. Had to drag myself downstairs. Glad I did though. Had better workouts..... Had way worse too! Probably a rest day tommorow and something Sunday after work. Hope all of you have a great weekend and happy fathers day to all my fellow dad's! Upstairs hope to hear from you bud!

Thanks all, I'm motivated by your posts.

Today is spin followed by TRX.

Butcher, I just may have to go back to squats (using smith cage). TRX has given some amazing results (long, lean muscles) but the 'ol backside isn't what it is used to be! TMI???

I didn't call my dad and I'm okay with it. Instead I had experiences that showed me how important it is for me to take this one day at a time.

Goals today: meditation, walking, light weights, stretches and shooting hoops.

Happy Monday, all!

It sounds like everyone had a pretty nice weekend. Mine was busy but I did squeeze in twenty minutes of exercise a day probably. Going to catch up a little bit with three miles on the treadmill today.

good job Purplrks getting back at it!!

Howdy all! Glad to see everyone still after it!! Ringo, nah your good! Squats drfidefini hit that spot well. Kinda funny your brought up the gluteus. I found I was not using near enough of it with hip drives trying to lock out my deads... Started to focus on it and it helped allot! But was allot more sore than I was used to! You will rock the squats no doubt! Tonight was chest presses with dumbells and straight bar. Dumbells went terrible...... Straight bar went way better than should have been.. barely ate today. Did 6 sets of straight bar from 265-315. Than put 225 on and put my 60lb chains on for burnout. Got 8 reps! Form felt good. Did 3 sets of Jiggs renegade push-up rows and three sets of battle ropes. Ab wheel for 15 and that's a night. Really glad I lifted tonight. Stressful day. Helps keep me even keeled. All have a great night/day!!

TRX yesterday blasted upper body. I may have gotten momentarily dizzy. Very little complex carbs at breakfast.

Rode bike to work today only partially for exercise; I have a couple errands to run after work and parking a bike is sooo much easier than a car!

Hafa adai!

I'm making use of the practice of 'the busier my days are, the more I meditate' and keep seeing things flow together much easier as I do this.

Today: yoga, light weights, running and allowing a playful outlook during these.

Rode my bike again today. So much fun, though it takes a lot of planning and packing. (food, make-up, clothes, etc.)

I could do spin again today (before TRX) or Zumba after TRX or just TRX. Wish all my problems were so easy to solved!

Ringo- those are nice problems to have. At the gym I have to pick and chose what classes to do because they are at the same time or back to back. Depends on what I feel like doing and my energy. lol also if I want to be social or not.

Monday- 3 miles treadmill
Tuedsay- 2 miles treadmill, abs, legs, cable machine workout
Wed. - treadmill and something else maybe strength training or swimming.

Need to up water intake and protein intake. What are your favorite ways to get in the protein? TIA

Had two lazy days, then today I did Shaun T's "Fat Burning Cardio" ~ 40 minutes....Hopefully that'll help me sleep tonight....

Good question on the protein Midwest....I need to pay more attention to my intake....I like when the shakes are on sale at the store, but even then that gets pricey.

Howdy all! Glad to see all of you kicking behind!! Purps and Midwest, I agree it's dang hard to get the allotted amount of protein in. I got two full time jobs. My PD job I got no issues with it cause I can come home to eat. My side job all I got for options is fast food.... And I can't stand it. No options for complex carbs at all and very little for protein. And no where to prep meals. If I got time I bring a cooler with a packed lunch or will just bring deer jerky. If not a gas station sandwich. For protein powder I highly recommend Animal brand whey protein powder. Stay away from gainers unless your trying to bulk. I did a bulk cycle a few roads back and dont think I want to do anymore...just felt bloated and full all the time. I got up to 278lbs. Down to 264 now. I'm ok with my weight but sticking with the whey non gainer. Also if you like chocolate flavor it will crush a sweets craving! A website called Muscle and Strength has the best prices I've seen. And you can't go wrong with either flavor of Muscle Milk. The premade shakes are great and convenient but are way expensive compared to powder. With protein powder sadly I learned you get what you pay for. The cheaper ones don't mix as well and the flavor is not near as good as the spendier ones. Also some of the cheap stuff has been known to cause stomach issues. Anyway hope that helped. Tonight I did paused bench, dips and pullups till failure. Went ok. Pretty uneventful and I will take that! Still damn happy I can belt out pullups now. Did 5 sets till failure. Probably gonna rest tomorrow and do heavy deadlifts Friday before work. And yesterday's tire workout has me still kinda sore. Hope all of you have a great night and day!!!

What a coincidence, just yesterday the dietician reviewed a typical day's food for me and said my protein intake was fine. I'm quite a carnivore but typically only have meat, poultry, or fish at dinner.

With much physical activity the last three days in a row, today is a rest day. Perhaps a walk at noon to get a little "vitamin D sunshine".

Next three days, active but no formal exercise planned as we're going on our annual visit to see the grandkids. Five of them between 7 and 14 yrs!

I remembered to weigh in today: 115.4
Not bad for age 61 and height of 5' 2.5"
