Hey Upstairs ~ I was gonna try and describe it, but I found this on Youtube so it may help a little more:

Hola all! Legs and Forearms workout was done. I decided to just do sets of 225 on the squats. Iíll probably be sore enough from those tomorrow without making it worse. Rest of the routine went ok. Everything will go easier next time, Iím hoping. Tomorrowís routine is Chest and Back. If I get that done early Iíll try to squeeze in some lawn mowing.

Thanks for the video, Purps! I havenít been doing any Ab workouts and I have to start somewhere! I just donít like doing Ab workouts. Maybe if I ever get them in good shape Iíll feel differently. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Brrrrr....this is June??? What the.....#@$%[email protected]*. Morning temps here were just a hair above the freezing mark and they aren't much better yet, SOB! In 3 short months fall is going to be knocking on our door and we're still waiting for spring to arrive !!

Anyway, at least I'm saving $$ not having to use the Air Conditioning.

Today, Kettlebell Day!!

10 Kb Swings
10 Kb Snatches (5 right, 5 left)
10 Kb Clean & Squat (5 & 5)
10 Kb Clean & Press (5 & 5)
10 KB Rows (5 & 5)
10 Kb Deadlifts (5 & 5)
10 Kb Floor Presses (5 & 5)
10 Kb Weighted Sit Ups
10 Kb Headcutters
10 Kb Curls
10 Kb Tricep Presses
Rpt 6x

Seems like a lot but once you have a rhythm going you can shoot through a circuit like this in about 7 minutes, give or take. Used a 40lb bell for this.

Finisher was a Dumbbell Ladder;

10 Clean & Press
10 Renegade Rows (with Push Ups)
....then 9 reps, then 8 etc. down to 1

.....and then some more Biceps & Triceps work just for fun!

Howdy all! First day back after two off. Planned on a light chest workout and heavy deads plus squats. Deads went ok, last reps were tough. Squats we're ok. Chest went good till it didn't. Had my second to last set on 305 and was trying for a double... Gravity won on the first rep. Just flat out was not strong enough to push it. Did 295x3, 285x4, 275x5 right before it without much issue. Body just said nope. Did 3 sets of Jiggs renegade push-ups till failure those went ok, still trying to get the form down. Set till failure on the ab wheel.. than skipped cardio and that's a wrap. No clue what's on for tomorrow night yet workout wise. Glad to see everyone doing great!! Keep it up!!

I did two standing up ab workouts on YouTube including the Shaun T one and I did the three mile walking away the pounds plus stretched.

I did some burpees too ..I was inspired by Jiggs!

I know I'd feel better if I got some exercise. Yesterday had to take my dog to urgent medical appt, today worked straight through 0630 to leaving time to try and catch up and then tomorrow, off work to take Lady for surgery.

I may get in a walk or something while she's in surgery for abscessed tooth. I admit to being a little depressed. Here's the challenge: I know exercise would help alleviate the depression yet I feel too bad to do anything or go anywhere. Hang in there girl, this too shall pass.

Hola all. Today was my Chest and Back day. Was feeling too sore yesterday so I put it off. No improvement today so I just did it anyway. Not a great workout. Every rep of every set of bench presses felt awful. Lots of pain in my shoulders, particularly my left. I somehow got all the reps save my last heaviest one. Definitely having a hard time getting back to daily exercise since the surgery. Pull-ups went about as badly as far as shoulder pain goes. Rest went okay, I felt like I got a much better deadlift workout going with a 7/5/3 routine instead of 3/3/3. The extra reps gave me a good pump for a change in the Lats, so Iíll be doing that for now on. Eh, just a demoralizing workout. I did actually do it tho, so I guess that should count as something. Tomorrowís routine is Delts, Triceps, & Biceps. Considering todayís workout, I may substitute something like front deltoid raises for the overhead presses. Take care all!

Sorry to hear about Lady Ringo123, positive thoughts your way that everything will be good!

Dumbbells....continuous sets for each exercise before moving on to the next one.

Clean & Press
Renegade Rows with Push Ups
Front Squats
Decline Pull Ups using the Lebert Bars
Reps done in this order
12, 12, 10, 10, 8, 8, 6, 6, 4, 4, 2, 2

Then a bit of Cardio thrown in with some kettlebell swings.

30sec Swings, 30sec Rest for 10 minutes. Averaged 14 Swings for each set.

I was asked to come back to my department on a 1 year contract, in uniform. They can't fill positions and with the huge number of baby boomers retiring they are seriously running short on manpower. It's been over 5 years and although I'm pretty sure the uniform would fit fine, after much thought and reflection I respectfully declined. 35 years of it robbed enough of my life and personal sanity from me and there's no way in hell I'm going to let it rob me of my retirement.

Now it's time to give the Kayaks a once over. The local rivers have finally slowed down from our spring monsoons so it's time to get some river time in.
Have a great day!

Ringo- I hope Ladies surgery went well today.

Upstairs- I hope you are less sore tomorrow.

Jiggs- good job declining...you deserve to enjoy your retirement. You worked hard for it.

I did 65 minutes of a mixture of cardio and strength training.

3 years sober today! Just another day really but I am super happy.

Howdy all! Glad to see everyone still at it! Midwest huge congratulations on your sobriety!! Awesome job!! Ringo sorry about your dog hope all turns out well!! My dog is one of my best friends and is family. Upstairs hang in there bud! This too shall pass. Your a beast and will no doubt power through!! Jiggs... I think you made the right call brother. We are no better to the South getting cops hired. Nobody wants to do it anymore. We used to see our agencies get 25ish aps. They got 7 last time...and 4 failed pt one failed written. I work for a very small town and am happy but talked to guys in my neighboring jurisdictions... Morale is so low it's scary. I could go on and on but will stop.. sadly you probably know the exact words I would type anyway. Enjoy every bit of your hard earned retirement!!!!!!! Anyway, tonight I had a great/bad workout?!? I'm still not sure what to call it. Deads/squat and bench. Squats went ok... Not awesome but I will take it. Deadlifts went terrible. No other workding for it. Might as well of had 900lbs on the bar instead of 450. Went to do bench and crushed the set I failed on in my 4th set last time! Blew it up. Even got 315 for a double after my sets. Best part was pullups. Last time went well. Did 5 sets and for for reps 5,5,5,3,2. Anytime before if someone would have told me I would have a pullup set go better than a deadlift set I would of said they were crazy!! Unreal. I definitely need a shower and might take my crazy mutt for a night time walk. Y'all are awesome and hope all of you are having a great night!!

Thanks all for the well wishes. Lady the Hound is ok, still a little woozy and will be for the next couple days because of the meds she's on.

I'm one of those baby boomers (technically, ok; born in 1957) retiring soon!

No real exercise so far this week--no wonder I feel krappy. I gotta get to spin class today.

Butcher- that sounds like a great workout. I love the after workout feeling!! Nothing beats it.

Ringo- I am sure you will feel great after spin class. I hope Lady feels better soon.

Purplrks- that is really cool that someone shares my sober bday on here.

Jiggs- enjoy your item outside.

I did thirty minutes of strength training and a 40 minute walk. I already feel the burn in my abdomen. Haha good thatís where I need to feel it.
