Howdy all! Got jammed up at work again but back on track tonight. Ringo have a good vacation!! Mango, the guy is lost by his own accord, he's got some pretty big warrants out for him and is on the run. Jiggs your crushing it brother! Keep it up! Purps way to stay after it! It's good to mix it up like your doing. Upstairs, my friend I'm sorry you got layed up but I'm glad you caught that before it got worse. I'm betting you will be almost be stronger when your weight restriction is lifted. Get healed bud!!!! So tonight I started my new program my trainer made me. Holy cow... I'm a hurting unit. It's bench, squats, and deads in different variations three times a week. Each weight two sets of 7. Tonight was standard squats 235 2x7, 245 2x7, 255 2x7. Bench was Same weight and reps. Deads were Romanian which I have never done before. I put 355 on as a starting point and had to do 6x7. I have never in my life been this tired from a workout. If my math is right I did 141 reps. It's a program designed for more time under bar. These next few weeks are gonna be rough getting used to the volume. Absolutely dripping sweat when I was done. Glad to see all doing well! I rest tomorrow and might try to buy a pallet of Advil (half kidding!!) I'll report back Tuesday to post and see how everyone is still kicking behind here! Y'all have a great night/day!

Thanks all. I'm so excited.

65 minutes spin and TRX yesterday. Loved it. Just might do spin again today. So much to do. Hubby speaking at a meeting tonight so it'll be a late one for us. Weight staying steady: 117 this morning. You know I'm hitting the beach!

Howdy all! Jiggs I would take you as a partner any day brother! Yesterday went crazy. Had to fight a guy, got him cuffed, kicked one exterior door, one interior door, than tear off a shed door but we got our guy finally!! His buddy was fighting to stall us to give his buddy time to jet. Really thought he bouced out of state. He was less than a mile from his house. Todays workout was another high volume one. No deadlifts today. Did overhead presses instead. 6 sets of 7 paused presses with 205-235. And 6 more sets of seven with squats. Really hopeing the soreness eases up. I took the weekend off from both jobs. Had use or lose days and I'm not giving them back! Think till the eofe gets home I'll take my crazy hound down to a pond and let him tear around. Glad to see everyone still crushing it!! Y'all have a good one!!

I sure miss those adrenalin rushes butcher70, although I think the 3 decades plus of them kinda took a toll. Still when I hear those sirens or see a patrol car go by I still get a lump in my throat. I don't think I'll ever be able to turn it off.

Today, a deck of cards cardio/endurance workout with a kettlebell, some burpees and my heavy bag.

All Red Cards (Aces to 10): 10 kb swings
All Blk Cards (Aces to 10): 10 kb snatches (5 left, 5 right)
All Face Cards: 5 Burpees
After Every 4th Card: 35m Heavy Bag Shoulder Carry.
Jokers: Do an extra circuit of the above.

220 Swings
220 Snatches
70 Burpees
525 meters covered re bag carry.

This one had me an all fours at the end. Bag was a 100lbs, kb was just 40. Not a big weight by any stretch but man they were feeling double the weight after a few non-stop rounds!

Deal out 4 Cards face up from a deck of cards and do the associated exercise and reps without stopping. After the fourth card complete a bag carry, rest 60 seconds
and then deal out another 4 cards. Repeat until you've completed the deck.

Hafa adai!

Weekend goals: ramp up & relax --- switching gears between these two skills.

Ramp up - more reps on light weights more often through the weekend; more running in small spurts with fun, joy and intent of gaining quicker takeoffs, more stretching, basketball each day. Yoga - back to some deeper, long holds.

Relax - meditation, making use of breath and visualization to allow full, complete relaxation of muscles. Time with friends. Time with pup.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Howdy all! Glad to see you are still getting after it! Jiggs I was out of the game for a year and missed it the whole time. It never does leave you. And btw your workouts sound intense!! Respect!! Mine tonight was deadlifts 365 2x7, 385 2x7, 405 2x7, close grip bench 205 2x7, 215 2x7, 225 2x7. Front squats, 225 2x7, 235 2x7, 245 2x7 than barbell rows 6x7 225. Barely finished thost last two sets. I'm absolutely beat. This weekend I'm off. Got the yardio done before the storm and the dog ran. Gonna feed my face and probably have some ice cream. I hope all of you have a great night and weekend!!

Thanks butcher70. The whole point of these workouts is to stay alive at least 35 years post retirement so I can get back the money that I invested in the pension for 35 years, I figure by the time I'm 90 we're even LOL.

Today, tried an experiment of sorts calculating the amount of volume lifted with Push Ups and just a pair of 20lb dumbbells, yep that's it.

So every minute on the minute (emom) I did:

Cleans x 6
Presses x 6
Bent Rows x 6
Beyond the Range (BTR) Push Ups x 7

I usually had approx 20-25 seconds left over at the end of each minute for recovery.

So the amount of reps with the dumbbells; 240 cleans, 240 presses, 240 rows @ 40lbs = 28,800 lbs of volume.
Then 280 Beyond The Range (BTR) Push Ups which = approx 100lbs of bodyweight lifted per rep according to my size = approx 28,000lbs of volume.

So the total volume of weight lifted in 40 Minutes would be approx. 56,800lbs and 1000 total reps!

That's it till Monday, have a great weekend folks!

Hafa adai! Happy Sunday, everyone.

It's cool seeing the tie-in between setting goals and intents and how easily life flows together.

Today I'm adding in extra walking and time in nature. I had the soccer ball out yesterday. Planning on basketball today.

Happy Sunday all! Decided to lift tonight instead of tomorrow. Another high volume night... As they will be on this program. Bench, squats and deadlifts. 3 different weights each 2x7. I am absolutely beat. It was a good weekend off. Got allot of projects around the house done. Wanted to get this workout done tonight instead of Monday as I work kinda late. Hope all of you have a great night and a good Monday!

Sure has been a crappy spring up here in the north. Sun is out first thing in the AM, disappears by 10 AM, rain, cloud, cool then clears up between 5-6 PM. I swear we haven't had two days of sunshine in a row since last August.

Anyway, at least the workouts help release those happy endorphins because the weather sure isnt.

Today, yep, Bulgarian Bag workout. Man I love these things.

EMOM for 35 minutes with a 40lb bag;
- 8 Bag Snatches
- 4 Burpees

Hope your week is off on a good start!
