Brand new thread...had to post. DID NOTHING TODAY. Just putting it out there like going to confession. I resolve to make up for that tomorrow. Way too preoccupied with stuff that was not productive. Reading your efforts people helps. I have a goal for my vacation end of July and this thread title gives me a fall goal as well. I want to be OUT of plus sizes by Sept 21.

GC and Lizajane, thank you for giving me a better perspective. Stamina is one thing I do have. Of the grandkids three grandmothers (blended family), I'm the nana that can keep up!

Lizajane, Sep 21 is a practical goal. What you do today will help you throw out those plus sizes on Sep 21st.

We had a substitute at Zumba yesterday. She was great! Regular gal is great too but yesterday's class reminded me of aerobics that I absolutely loved in the late 80's and through middle 90's.

Yoga at noon today and I'm giving myself the option of weight training at 3pm.

I don't normally hit the weights Thu after work but on Tue the locker room was closed because the janitor was late in finishing cleaning it. (This has happened before throwing a dent in my schedule!) I went home and took the dog for walk.

Ringo you are the cool Nana rockin' the bod!

Got to the gym in the AM! Much better plan. Did upper body weights. I switched to doing it in a circuit rather than one exercise at a time. Same routine...12 reps / 3 sets. I added 5 pounds to all exercises and with the added recovery time to specific muscles, it worked! I was done faster and I think my heart rate was more consistently elevated. I watched world cup on elliptical for 60 minutes after. The machine says I burned 675 calories, not a big believer in the accuracy of those calculations but they do motivate!

It's a low energy day, but I was at the gym this morning despite my desire to not go. It wasn't the best, but at least I was there. We're going away for the weekend tomorrow and my exercise while away is going to be hiking.

Today is my 1st day taking a break from exercise completely over the last 4 weeks. I saw a chiropractor the other day and feeling a bit sore. My goal for tomorrow is a 20 minute swim in the morning and a 1.5 mile walk in the afternoon and another in the evening.

Overall goal for the summer is at least 3 miles walked each day and/or a 30 minute swim or 30 minute bike ride daily to switch things up.

It sounds like everyone is doing really good! I like reading everyone's goals. I really would be happy if I maintain all summer...but I may reevaluate that.

Wednesday- I did strength training at home, 30 minutes on the stationary bike, and walked.

Thursday- I spent the day with my niece. We rode bikes & went swimming. I got some sun! At least I am not a lobster.

Welcome MC555. Great thread here to get and stay motivated.

GC, glad you went even tho not feeling it. Any workout is better than skipping. Hope you enjoy hiking.

Upstairs, MW & Lizajane, sounds like you're both having a good week.

I didn't make it to yoga yesterday--for two reasons: I attended a retirement ceremony that went longer than expected (Yoga is one class I won't walk into once it's started), and I was bloated for unknown reason--didn't binge or eat trigger foods. I walked to the bank instead.

Biked to work today. Gotta do something at noon--either outdoor fitness walk, Zumba or weights.

Well done all!

My exercise for the day was 50 pushups and loading the car for our weekend away. Hopefully we'll leave in about 2 hours. My only remaining task before leaving is to take my dog to the spa, which she loves; I can state with a high degree of surety that her accommodations will be nicer than ours.

Enjoy your respective weekends!

My post disappeared.
Have a great trip GC! It's a dog's life

It is weigh in Friday...down 2 pounds. Very happy with that but still having trouble looking at the total number. As my husband said this morning, "How do you eat an elephant?" For me it is one or two pounds a week. Sounds like I am actually eating an elephant. Low carb for sure. I am visualizing my elephant as my waistline. Trying to eat away at those inches.

Love what Ringo said, "Any workout is better than skipping." Yes...no more blanking a day.

I like the way Midwest and Ringo are switching things up. Goal this week is to do some more things throughout the day rather than just the big gym trip.

Cautionary Tale:
I was watching world cup while jogging on the DREADMILL and an exciting play happened, during which I lost my footing a little and had an almost fall!

Sooo...suggesting that the elliptical or stationary bike might be a better option for viewing exciting sports matches. I learned this before while watching hockey, the sport that really gets me excited, but did not realize I would get swept away during a Croatia/ Switzerland match!

That said, I had a great cardio day at the gym...60 minutes on treadmill and 30 on bike.

Lizajane- I am glad you are okay! Great job on losing 2lbs. That is great. Slow and steady is the way to go.

Ringo- sorry you missed yoga but that is great you got a walk in. I hope you feel better tomorrow.

GonnaChange- I hope you have a great trip! I can't believe your dog is going to a spa. Must be nice!

I went to the gym today and I did a class where all the exercises are done on a stability ball and then I did 15 minutes on the stair master.

Thursday was intense.

Larkin the Sadistic had me doing three kinds of squats, three sets each. Goblet, sumo and some weird balletic ones. They hurt. Then steps with weights, seventeen thousand reps of lat exercises, buncha other stuff.

Went to my shrink after. Good session. He said that whatever I'm doing, do more of it. I have been more confident, engaging and present. The new workout is having a mental effect. I'm also off a medication, and doing physical therapy for balance, posture and my shoulder. Off keto for now, and I've increased my daily calorie consumption up to 2500 a day. Again, trainer says I'm not eating enough.

After that I had fish tacos and chilled. Was going to go home, but decided to have a mellow afternoon. So I went hiking, which I swore to my trainer that I wouldn't do after leg day. It was a rather slow but steady hike, cloudy over by the beach. Not a lot of gas in the tank, but after that leg workout understandable.

Woke up this morning knowing why the trainer didn't want me to hike, my legs are very sore. But it feels fantastic. Nothing today, my roommate is putting on her play and tonight is opening night, so I hung out with her mom and sister that are visiting from Atlanta. I'm in charge of champagne for the toast, so I have three bottles of bubbly chilling in the fridge as well as a bottle of sparkling cider for myself and anyone else that doesn't drink.

I have a real estate seminar tomorrow from 11-1, which kinda kills the gym. Sunday will hit for biceps, triceps, traps, calves and abs.

Hola all and TGIF! Today was my Chest day. Everything went well. Got all my bench press reps for the second session in a row. Iíll just stick at these weights until they feel a bit easier. I donít plan on any injuries this summer. Slow and steady. Tomorrowís routine is Back. I wonít be doing seventeen thousand lat exercises, but Iíll do what I can! Itís going to rain until Monday so I donít have much else to do.

Good work everyone! I envy your weight loss LizaJane! Youíre working it off! 90 minutes on the cardio equipment is insane. I only need to lose a pound a week to reach my goal. Iíll keep you all updated. Today I was 228.6lbs. I probably need to lose around 50, but Iíll start off with the first ten. Have a good weekend all if I donít hear fro you here!
