That one activity you always gravitate back to?

I've had a lot of interests in various outdoor activities over the years. But it seems I always gravitate back to cycling. I've done stints of running, hiking, tried bouldering about a year back.

I can watch videos on ultramarathons, rock climbing and even thru-hiking. But my heart always finds its way back.

Anyone else like this? I've been planning an overnight bike trip and now I have the perfect opportunity and I'm starting to plan for it.

Hiking and walking. I love cycling but sometimes the drivers get me down anymore.

I would like to do the GAP and C&O on bike within the next year or two though.

Biking! OMG it is the best activity for my mental and physical health!
I actually cry when I get out on the open road because I can just feel the freedom and let go of all the crap that is in my head!
More power to us cyclists!

Someone called my name? I was just passing through SR ( I do that now and then) and saw this post. Just yesterday I was looking at a 7 day cycling tour in Southern Spain in the fall. Unfortunately not realistic because if I was going to invest a couple of weeks for a trip to Europe, I would be doing something with my wife instead. In the meantime, I just keep logging mega miles on my bike at home. Maybe Ill do one of those New Hampshire or Vermont multi day tours when the foliage starts to change in the fall. But yes, bicycling is it for me.

Glad to hear from you Tom ,...

I discovered cycling years ago riding recreationally with a few buddies and no swelling to a badly damaged knee . Between running or cycling,....I'd choose running every day ,.... my knee just can't handle it though .

Trying to ease back into cycling now ,....short 10 -15 mile rides pushing it . *Pushing it * for me right now is embarrassingly slow ,...avg 14 mph .

Running. In my drinking days I used to run in the morning if I wasn't hung over. Unsurprisingly it's is even better sober.

Other outdoor activities just don't feel as good.
