I have no problem with sugar at all. Actually I had a small scoop of ice cream yesterday and that was the first time in 6 months. Candy and pastries don't interest me at all. BUT......salty foods are my downfall. Chips of all sorts take me down.

Thanks mel, unfortunately I didn't sleep very well last night☹️ feeling very under the weather today, so much so I've had to call into work sick. I'm going to try and have some breakfast, - some scrambled egg and salmon, hope I can keep it down, today is the start of a new me even though I feel awful! Haha!
Ooh forgot to mention I'm aiming to lose 30lbs, I'm 5ft 7 inches, I think that would put me in the healthy weight range😆x

I hope you feel better Owl79. You can do it! I always have to remind myself I didn't gain the weight overnight so I can't expect to lose it overnight.

On a side note, the biggest reason I quit drinking was to lose weight and I didn't lose any!! I am pretty sure I don't eat nearly as much as when I drank ( I always got low blood sugar and ate a bunch of sugar while drinking) and certainly don't have the additional booze calories but alas, it didn't do anything for me. I am still glad I stopped but that is such a metabolic mystery to me. Oh well. Onward.

I have reduced but not eliminated the sugar yet. It will definitely have to happen to get where I want to be. This month (November) I am pledging to get a workout in every day! Even if I can't make it to the gym I will do some pushups and planks and run up and down my driveway or SOMETHING. Every day.
MY goal is to be down to 135 by the end of the month.
That's less than 2 pounds a week for the time remaining. I think that is doable.
Plenty of movement, less to NO added sugar, watching my fat intake and eating until satisfied but not stuffed. That is my formula.

Weighed 140.2 this morning so I dropped a little. Slow and steady wins the race.

Owl, Get some rest and drink lots of fluids. Do you like tea?
I am going to start drinking more water. In the summer I am constantly drinking water but, for some reason I have not been drinking enough water these days. I am going to keep record f how many ounces of water I consume. Now I am going to exercise...later!

Thanks for the thread....10 years ago I started on a low carb ‘lifestyle’. It changed my life. I lost 100 pounds and have maintained to keep it off. At first I fought the sugar cravings but in time got over it. Today if I crave sugar I go ahead and treat myself to something but making sure it’s low in carbs. After alcohol I drink a lot of water and hot tea in the evening. I walk for exercise and belong to a gym. I’m 5’11, 192 pounds.

Well Day 2 of the diet (slimming world) and I am doing well so far - have a netball match at 835pm so some exercise getting in as well. Tried drinking more water today and I have been back and fore to the loo all day - lol. Even though I will be weighing everyday I won't post until Sunday (after a week) as my weight fluctuates X

Hi Susiegirl! 😄

You sound like your having a very productive day! I reckon I will sleeping by 8.35pm! Haha! I've done OK with my healthy eating today,
I've drank loads of diluting juice but haven't been to the toilet much🤔
I was actually considering taking a water tablet, think my body must be storing it up! Do you think that's a sign that I was very dehydrated??
Enjoy netball tonight!x

Thanks Owl - I'm currently lying on my bed wanting to get in to my P'J's and jump
under the duvet but I'm going to force myself to go - I know I will feel better for going. Have another early shift tomorrow so hopefully I will sleep well again.
Hope you're feeling better now X

I love, love, love coconut water! I drink it after my bike rides. My newest tea craze is Matcha Tea. It is 'ceremonial' but, I just use tea bags for now. You can get a starter bowl, bamboo wisk, and spoon along with the loose tea on the net. It looks like fun to do! Google it...

I've Googled the matcha tea, it looks lush! Can you still add milk with it, Or do you drink it just as it is?x

Welcome gatorman ! Susiegirl, way to go on sticking with your plan (Slimming World). Im going to update my weight on Mondays but like you will weight every day because I just do that.

One thing I forgot is that I will not be able to exercise for a little while after my surgery on the 14th. Poop. I am not sure how long but the surgeon already told me no vigorous exercise for 3 weeks. I will do whatever movement possible and have to be extra diligent about my nutrition. It will be worth it.
