No exercise while away and while my food choices were fine my portion control was not. Combined with the increase of sodium and poor hydration I'm bloated today and I'll be making a big effort to address that by drinking a lot; to that end I'm already at almost a half gallon/2 liters of water. Also, in a short while I'll be lacing 'em up and going for a run.

Happy Tuesday gang.

This morning was legs and biceps. Now gotta fish a few leaves out of the pool and prep for this afternoon's guests.

Enjoy the run GC.

Good afternoon all! It's chest day in the gym for me. I'm tempted to up my bench press routine 10lbs instead of 5lbs. Wisdom tells me to go slow in increasing weight, but jumping ahead can be fun! Could be I have had way too much coffee here at the office today. I hope everyone had a happy July 4th!

Hi fit peeps! Leg workout today, was a bit hard on my knees but I got through it. I had taken a few days off because I was away. Feeling good though!

Mark, thanks about the run.

Earlier today I broke my self imposed prohibition about running two days in a row. Only 3 miles at 11:56 pace, just about what my results were on my last run.

Well hello gang,

Today's gym was a variety of upper body stuff and then a run.

I was just reading an interesting article about the benefits of and possible superior approach of a whole body workout three days per week vs the 5 day split of isolated muscle groups (what I've done for some time). The studies leading to the conclusion were included although I haven't read them. I think I'm gonna give it a go. If you want to read the article it's on musclehack.com website. I couldn't make it work to post the link. Each session is a little longer of course, but the article made some good points.

I like this.....off yesterday and now hump day behind us.

Hola all! Finished the heavier weights! Me thinks I'll be keeping the weight the same for a while. My hands and wrists are smarting from it.
Let us know how the new workouts go Mark! I may look that site up tomorrow.

Hey Gang,

Didn't do much the last two days. Got in a slow, long walk Tuesday walking the parade. Took almost two hours to see the whole parade starting at one end of it (the beginning) and walking in the opposite direction towards the end of it.

Wow! One guy was riding a Texas Longhorn bull! Riding it just like a horse. And a zebra with no rider was staying in his place walking with that same group of caballeros.

Boy, do I need to fast this morning and hit the gym hard today to make-up for a couple of splurges at the County Fair (Monday) and 4th July BBQ.

Spin at 11am and upper body weights at 3pm. Wishing great day to all.

Mark, thanks for the article reference; I'll read it later today.

I had a decent lower body workout this AM.

Hola all! Days like this is why an exercise partner would come in handy as I just don't feel like working out. Still very achy in the hands and of course my whole Back routine involves pulling with said arms for an hour or so. I do always feel better after I have done it though. Gonna be a long workout me thinks!

I workout alone too Upstairs. Generally that's my preference, but sometimes a little encouragement to get going is nice......that's where you guys come in!

So I figured out out to post the link. I couldn't find the article going directly to his site. Anyway, just something I'm thinking about. Mix it up a little you know.

Are Body-Part Split Workouts Good For Gains? | MuscleHack

Today was a rest day. Will be back at it tomorrow morn.

Hi, guys)

I am joining you on the road to fall. I've been slacking on exercising for quite a while. Time to get back to my regular routine.

Cardio and back are scheduled for today.

Welcome MidnightBlue. This is a great place to get inspired, stay inspired and to inspire others to be the best they can be!

Mark, enjoy the new routine. I change up every so often partly to prevent overuse injury, to shake things up (keep my muscles guessing what I'm going to do), prevent boredom, and to challenge myself.

I'm still doing the slow motion weight lifting. I look stronger and feel great. As I am mostly in a maintenance phase and don't live in the gym like when I was in my food & exercise addiction, I work each muscle group once a week (divided up M/W/F) and do cardio twice weekly minimum.

Today is bicep/tricep.

Will walk a lot while on vacation, swim, snorkel, kayak, and hopefully a couple of other activities. No formal exercise planned but have packed for it just in case.

See you all Monday 17 July! I might check in sooner if I can figure out the hotel Wi-Fi...

I also like changing my routine every few months.

Because I'm a bit anal I have to write that my pace for my run two days ago was 10:56 per mile, not 11:56. Still sloth-esque, but.....

I haven't done any exercise yet today because it's been torrentially raining; I don't mind the rain, but there's a lot of local flooding so I know I'd have to run through a lot of water as well as getting splashed by cars going through accumulated water if I run on the road and through mud if I go to the woods so my plan is to wait until the situations mellows, which according to the forecast should be in a couple of hours.

Hi Guys , sorry haven't been on here for over a week as I feel off the wagon a little. My exercise hasn't suffered though. Still been running. 6 mile run in the bag today. My eating habits have been pretty good too X

Hola all! Welcome to the Road to Fall Midnightblue and welcome back Susie!
Finished my Arms routine for today with no real problems. Which was surprising as I was really sore getting up this morning. Course I'd be more sore if I'd run a few miles yesterday! I hope everyone is having a great weekend! And have a restful vacation Ringo!

I doubled up my workout today and took the dog for an extra long walk because it's just so gorgeous outside! I think I need to add more cardio because although I've toned up a lot and lost over 10 lbs I think I could be losing more and it's either eat less or move more and I don't want to eat less haha. Since I've quit drinking food has become such a pleasurable thing to me and I really enjoy cooking and eating. The healthy stuff just doesn't smell or taste as good as the rich, saucy, buttery foods.

I was at the gym this AM for four rounds of:

Db squat presses
Db reverse lunges
Kb swings
Kb bent over rows
Up downs
Mountain climbers
Duffle bag squat cleans

It should be an early evening which means I'll be in good shape to get a run done before heading to the gym tomorrow AM.

Forgot to check in yesterday - 4 mile run completed but had a little binge on chocolate and crisps last night. Never mind - not going to beat myself up as I have been good the rest of the week.
