Hey everyone! It was a quick trip to the gym, once I realized I forgot my iPod But I managed to do 30 minutes of strength training, then came home and did a workout video while wearing weighted gloves.....like Susie said ~ I think I'll sleep tonight too!

Purplrks, your post reminded me that my iPod needed a charge before today's workout. I'm all set now.

Today's gym time will focus on chest and triceps.

Happy Friday all.

Joining you all on the road to fall. 7days sober, wedding in October. I'm focusing heavy on healthy eating, portion control, and routine exercise (elliptical resistance intervals). I'd like to drop 20 pounds by sept 1st. One more cup of coffee then down to the basement I go to sweat it out.

Happy Friday morning to all my fellow fitness enthusiast friends.

I biked to work to today (not far. 2.5 miles). Something I do most Fridays during the summer. I bring in my clothes and food the day before so it takes some planning.

Upper body weights planned at 11a. I may take a little more time and do some leg work.

It's Day Three of a 16:8 Intermittent Fasting trial. So for a 16 hr period (after dinner to lunch next day) is the fast and then in the next 8 hours I have lunch and dinner. Actually, I'm going in small increments to what they call a "clean fast" (nothing with calories or nutrition). Wed and Thu a.m. I had some bone broth but today is my first morning with nothing but water and coffee, maybe a cup of Moringa Tea.

I should be able to do this on the weekend too. I've been having only two meals on the weekend for a few years now. I feel really good--so far!

Upstairs, I'm glad you got your deads figured out.

Susie, that's a nice amount of mileage.

Purpl, nice job not letting forgetting your iPod throw you off your game.

Welcome bblackbird!

Ringo, best wishes for success with your eating trials.

For me, to clarify the weird backslash in my last post when describing yesterday's exercise theme is should have read push/pull. Makes more sense now, right?

Hazy, hot, and humid was the forecast so I was out the door by 8:30. Yeah, I know not exactly an eye opening starting time. At that time the temperature was 81F/27C with matching humidity which equates to a heat index of about 85F/29C. Whatever. My goal was to slightly increase my meager distance and not focus at all on time and the end result was that I ran 2.3 miles at a 12:04 pace. Like last time all body parts felt good; my next run is scheduled for Sunday with a goal distance of at least 2.5 miles. Slow and steady distance increases for the win.

Happy Friday to you all. No run for me today. I decided to give the house a really good clean today so I'm sure I can count that as exercise. I will definitely go tomorrow X

TGIF all! Welcome to the thread bBlackbirdflyy! I reckon I'll be doing arms today in the gym (well, my basement). I'm in the mood to really work them out today, so that's my Friday night!
It has taken a while, but I'm finally getting to where exercising every day has just become a daily habit once again. A fun habit, not a painful chore to be dreaded. It's been a long time since I could look ahead and have a positive outlook on where I'll be next year this time. I really wish I'd gotten clean years ago, but it's water under the bridge now. Take care everyone!

You are all so inspiring. Missed my 2nd weight workout this week but will catch it today along with a nice long walk. Thanks for your inspiration.

6.5 miles (10K) run this morning. I think I can officially say I am now a 10k runner as I have done it twice this week. I'm sure quitting alcohol has helped as when I was drinking wine the furthest I ran was 4 miles and that was a struggle. Will probably go out for a walk later as well to break up my day. My diet has been pretty good too. I know I shouldn't weigh every day but I do. At the moment the scales show that I have put on a pound and a half - I wondering if this is because I have upped my running mileage - I not worried as I know the weight will drop eventually.

Hola all! I'm about to get out the lounger and do my Legs workout. I keep telling myself that one of these days I'm really going to enjoy doing squats. Some day!

Got to the gym today after work, thank goodness....did a small circuit of squats w/ weights, pushups and 1 minute hovers, then an hour on one of those step-liptical machines. Much needed!

Hola all! I hope everyone had a great and sober weekend! Well another chest workout is over and done with. I doubt it's recommended to drink hot coffee while exercising, but it's my basement and what I say goes! Take care everyone!

Nice run Susie!

Gracie, I hope the walk went well

Upstairs, I trust the leg workout went well as well as your shoulder workout Mark.

Zen enjoy the time on the boat.

The pace of my short run two days ago was a good deal slower than any marathon I've ever run; considering there were no injuries involved it ordinarily would have bothered me a lot, but I did my best to focus on the process of building miles, pace be damned. Within reason of course. This morning was a different story. My run was 2.9 miles at a 10:53 pace, a half mile longer on a harder course, over a minute per mile faster, and I did not aggravate any body parts. To some degree the weather was more conducive and even if based on recent activity this was an outlier in the opposite direction than Friday I'm pleased. Actually what I'm most pleased about is the reduced recovery time, so even though I have a long way to go before I can enter the respectable category I can envision my plan coming to fruition. It's a good thing my recovery time was relatively quick before shortly after coming home, cooling down a little, and refueling, I was at the gym for a strength and stamina class.
