Mark, the trip sounds great.

By all who attended and including the trainer, it was agreed that yesterday's strength and stamina class was one of the toughest to date. After that the family went apple picking, which was a lot of fun, but it also meant hours on our feet. After what transpired yesterday and a poor night's sleep in part due to going to bed too late for no good reason I wasn't expecting much at the gym today, but I had a great workout. I love pleasant surprises like that.

I probably have a long dog walk ahead of me this afternoon.

Surprises of that sort are always welcomed!

No apple picking around here......why do I now crave apple dumplings, apple tart, apple pie, apple sauce........

Today's plan is to be at the gym when it opens at 1:00. A few sets for back/bi's, a little trap and ab work, and then maybe a short run.

I'm not ready for Monday, but ready or not......

Man I love this fall weather! Normally I'd be outside tinkering in the garage, watching football and of course drinking beer. Instead I got in chest/biceps and a 27 mile bike ride. Well I am watching football too...hope everybody is doing well.

Mark, I'm almost embarrassed to admit how many apples I've eaten since we picked them.

JC, not a good day for the local teams. :-( That's a nice bike ride.

No exercise for me this AM because contractors started working on my kitchen and needed me around. I had hopes of going tonight, but my wife and I have to go shopping for some unexpectedly needed supplies.

What're most folks doing for kitchen counter tops up there GC?

I hope to explore a bit more of NY one day. Other than the city we've spent a little time around Lake Champlain and that's it. I think would be fun to go way out on Long Island and see what all that's about. I imagine it as quite grand in autumn. My favorite season .

Today was a rest day and going out to dinner this evening for oldest daughter's 19th. Should get some gym time in tomorrow. Legs/shoulders on the agenda.

Mark, most people are opting for quartz, granite, and even marble. For a number of reasons we went with a more old fashioned laminate.

NY State is essentially two different animals. NYC and its suburbs (known as Downstate) are a very different entity than Upstate, such as where you were when at Lake Champlain. I'm sure JCNY can talk more informatively about Long Island than me, but here's my quick take.

Nice beaches abound and in general the western part is comprised of typical for this region nice suburbs of NYC. Further to the east are some of the more high image names such as the North Fork, Montauk, the Hamptons, etc. I'm not out there too often because it's a PIA for me to get there and I'm much closer to some extremely fine beaches and little shore towns, some of the best I've ever seen, in New Jersey.

Fall foliage around here is spectacular with "here" being the entire region.

Getting back to fitness, my attempt at an evening workout last night was thwarted by a necessary trip to Home Depot that took up about 2.5 hours. Since there were stylistic issues involved I waited for my wife and we didn't get home until about 8:45. [Sarcasm] It was a wonderful way to spend an evening. [/sarcasm]. I'm not sure if I mentioned it here, but we're in the midst of a multi week home renovation and to somewhat mitigate costs we're buying some of the more expensive supplies and materials ourselves. Last night's trip was due to an unanticipated complication of one of the kitchen projects.

Exercise for today is going to be pushups and planks. Going forward, my plan is to be at the gym tomorrow AM for a six o'clock strength and stamina class.

Good morning fitness gang! I'm back from Kauai. Lots of literature focused meetings; we got to three of them.

And boy do I need to work out! We didn't get in as much walking as we usually do on vacation since the resort was a couple miles away from civilization in both directions. Not returning there. Too much driving.

I got in 25 minutes of exercise this morning before getting ready for work. Spin class at 11am and then an extended work out at 3pm. The weather today may not be good for any outdoor exercise so I'll do what I can in the gym.

So glad to be back! (Yikes, there's a lot to do at work. Oh well.) I'll take a break later to catch up on your posts.

Welcome back Ringo! We plan to check out the big island next time we are in the middle of the pacific. I want to see real lava.....from a distance.

I hope your strength and stamina class went well this morning GC.

I'll finish my work schedule early today, so a run and moving a little iron is on the agenda..

Happy hump day gang.

Hiya Ringo! Coincidentally I was talking with a friend yesterday about planning a trip to Hawaii.

Mark, the class went well. I was at the gym this morning at 6. Waking up early enough to fuel my body and get somewhat limber before this class isn't much fun, but it's only one day a week and I really do like getting so much done early in the day. I trust your run and date with the iron went well.

Exercise for the day is likely going to be home based; stretching, push ups, and planks.

A belated Welcome Aboard JC-NY! I did IF for 4-6 weeks earlier this summer. Not to lose weight as I am at goal weight but I kinda wanted to drop a pound or two. I'll be 60 later this month, female, 5' 2 1/2" and I can't get and stay below 123.8 pounds.

I enjoyed my IF schedule of dinner no later than 5p and nothing until a light lunch at 12:30 pm Mon-Fri. Switched on weekends of main meal at lunch and lighter meal for dinner. Mondays was a fast day of dinner only.

Mondays are still a fast day of dinner only but I am no longer doing IF.

I hit it hard yesterday being my first day back on my regular fitness schedule. Thu isn't normally an exercise day for me but I have to make up for vacation; I'll go to spin today at 11am.

When doing upper body lifting yesterday afternoon, I noticed some loss of strength. Bummer.

Take care everyone!

I did 75 push ups in sets of 25 with a one minute rest between sets. During the last set I had to take a break before I could lift myself off the floor and complete the requisite amount. I also did about 5 minutes of planks, but the aforementioned stretching has yet to be done and truthfully will likely not happen.

TGIF y'all.

I'm running a little late, but about to start a great weights session. Nice that I can still see progress considering the number of birthday candles I've collected!

No work today, so maybe a run later.

Best day to the gang!

Mark, I'm thankful for all those birthday candles because back when I was drinking and running the streets, I really didn't think I'd live this long.

Chose not to go to spin yesterday but to do my bicep/tricep routine instead. I usually do Bi/Tri on Fridays but today we're having a department BBQ. Dang, I had a good day yesterday!

Rode my bike today to work. That will probably be my only exercise today.

Have a great weekend all!

Exercise for the day is going to be the same as yesterday. I did get a "bonus" early this morning chasing after my dog who made a run for it chasing some animal. Fortunately she was able to get across a busy street near our house and not get hit by some late to work commuter. Ironically, we're fencing in the yard starting tomorrow.

Gonnachange - that would have elevated the heart-rate and not in a good way!
Glad the dawg is unscathed.

I hope the fencing project goes smoothly GC. Having the back lawn fenced really makes it easy/convenient around here when the dog has to go do its 'business'.

This morning's gym time will focus on chest and triceps. Then today's project is to remove the mildew stains that form on the porch ceilings during the loooooong humid summers here. The ceilings are quite high so lots of ladder climbing.

Have a great Saturday everyone.

Good morning gang,

This morning's exercise consists of coffee-cup curls. When the gym opens at one I'll be there and will focus on traps, wide grip pull-ups, rows, and a little ab work. That'll likely be last gym time until returning from hiking trip next week. I'll give myself credit for the hiking itself though!

Enjoy the remaining weekend and have a great week everyone.

Caramel, thanks about the dog. Mark, thanks about the fence project; if they're not done today they'll be done tomorrow. So far so good and I totally agree with you about giving me an "out" for dog walks even though I usually enjoy walking the dog.

Have a great trip and yes hiking does count as exercise.

Yesterday morning and this morning found me at the gym doing my usual weekend stuff. Right now I'm taking a break from some house projects.

Had an easy weekend; no formal exercise, usually don't. Instead it's meetings, laundry, housework maybe, watch TV, take the dog for a walk each day, grocery shop--all things I enjoy doing.

Now that it's Monday, I hit it hard: spin at 11am followed by legs/butt at 3pm. Most likely will bike to a meeting tonight.

Mark--We went to the Big Island last year. Loved it! Hotel in Kona was "downtown" so we walked and walked, it was great. Fruit and vegetable stand in walking distance too; went there just about every day.

I was at the gym for my normally scheduled Monday session with my trainer. After warm ups I did 3 rounds of:

Incline Bb bench presses
Incline Db flyes
Incline Bb skullcrushers
Lat pulldowns
Push ups
Standing Bb curls
Planks
Leg raises
